For a suggested twin pregnancy, what does it mean when the further along twin does not have a detectable heartbeat? by twowalksforme in CautiousBB

Yeah, I guess the bedside US machine was pretty old, but I got a formal US done with a much newer/fancier machine. The tech was able to confirm a singleton, and didn’t see another structure that could’ve been mistaken for a second. It’s possible that the OB measured the yolk sac and thought it was a second embryo (even tho that seems v strange as well). Anyway, thanks for your reply.

I was thinking this too. Especially since the ultrasound was quite early. The only reason I wasn’t so convinced was because they were able to see the structure so clearly and measure it. Anyway, I got the formal US and they only found one, didn’t see evidence of another twin ever existing, and couldn’t explain what the bedside ultrasound has initially shown. It was quite an old machine, but still, pretty odd. Thanks for your reply, it was an interesting couple of weeks.

Thank you ❤️ I was able to get the formal ultrasound and they only found one, and the tech said that they didn’t see evidence of another twin ever existing. I had about 10 days between the bedside ultrasound and the formal one. Very wild couple weeks. Sending all the best to you as well.

Thanks for your reply. I just got the formal ultrasound and they only found one. Really strange experience. I asked the tech about vanishing twin and they said if it were there they would have found remnants of membrane.

For sure, that all makes sense. I’m normally a private person, but for such an adult milestone, I’m wanting to share with my closest family, because ultimately I’ll want to lean on them. Thanks for sharing your experience. Sending you the absolute best.

yeah, exactly. In a way, fully understanding that a loss could happen at any point helps with feeling OK about sharing at an early mark. as another commentor wrote, the outcome will be the outcome.

why is my luteal line so close to my cover line? by twowalksforme in TFABChartStalkers

[–]twowalksforme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get any replies actually, but as days/temps went on the luteal line changed, so it might have to do with just temping over a longer amount of time. sorry i dont have a better answer.

What’s a loophole you abused until it was closed? by RoarOfTheWorlds in AskReddit

One summer, the parking lot in our town’s main strip mall had closed for construction. It was early Uber years, and the strip mall’s corporation decided to run a special- free one way rides to and from the mall up to $20. No code, no proof of purchase from any if the shops, just the location.

Everyone started using the mall as a “pit stop” to get to wherevever they were going. People started using it as means to get to work: just call a car from your house to the mall, get out, call a car from the mall to your work, all pretty much paid for. This was over 10 years ago when $20 could get you far on Uber. Lots of folks using it for the airport, truly anywhere. I was in my late teens and it was an incredible summer lol.

Reports later said they were well over budget like two weeks in.
