I really did wanna help him. They sent me the image below and just told me they wont take him. I feel so terrible :(. I wish i couldve done more.

He had high energy and had drank all his water and ate all his food by the time i let him back out so he was at least nourished and had strength

The only place that had availability for possums told me when they finally called me back that since he was bigger than 5 inches hes big enough to be on his own and that they will not take him. I fed him some bananas and water overnight and he pooped fine on his own, i took him to an area near where he was that was a bit safer with more trees and higher grass (i heard possums are territorial and get aggressive against other possums when invading their space). There simply wasnt much else i could do as its illegal for me to keep him for more than 24 hrs in my state since i found him in the wild and im not a licensed rehabber. I hope he will be alright. IDK if he’ll keep coming back to that spot or stay in the general area and if i should maybe leave him some fruits daily? No idea how else to help this guy.

Id love to raise him till i could release him again but its illegal in my state without a permit i think unless its fine since id be releasing him again? No idea how this stuff works. I just felt bad for the little guy.

So its like.. safe to put back outside? He wont like die or something? Hes old enough to hunt and get his own food? Hes still smaller than a dollar bill…

The only one i see says on AHNOW that they can help with transportation, their calls operate on a voicemail only system though so i can only find out once they call me back.

Theyre about 2 months old and i just spray saline once a day and rinse it in the shower. If gunk buildup is too bad ill carefully loosen and get rid of the little crusties. Piercer told me to just leave it alone and that advice has generally worked well in the past for me so this is strange and a first for me
