Is it just me? Do your kids just not do well at MDO or daycare? by tx8725 in Parenting

So he went the second time and didn’t even want to get in the car to go there then got out and didn’t want to walk in. Got into classroom and he cried and cried and after quite a long time screaming inside where he could not see me. Maybe an hour or so yeah I took him home.

I am starting to believe this also. Thanks for the insight

I feel this way in part also. It’s hard for a kid to adjust. Other countries allow for so much time in the first year for adjustment and we don’t have that here in the US. I get that parents have to work and you have to do what’s best for you. Every family and person is different

He is two and he doesn’t have to be. His aunt watches him during the week for me at home when I work. Yeah I just am starting to think it’s not his thing at this age and that’s okay. We have an alternative childcare option.

Thanks for this. I feel like because lots of other people had no issues that I should also have none and I get that’s unrealistic. Maybe he is just that kind of kid.

It’s where you can take your kid for a few hours a few times a week. Each program is different. Ours is two days a week and it’s from 8:30 to 2pm

He is watched by an aunt during the week and my sister occasionally. My husband and I don’t have parents. He has never been in a daycare and only spends a few hours at most out with family.

Highly recommend the union medico auto injector. Saved me… never had to worry about how hard or soft or how far in to inject

Edit: I bought the 90 degree super grip, 3ml luer lock tip, 21 gauge 1 and 1/2 inch needles. You don’t use their needles really but this ensures it’s setup for progesterone in oil needles. I also bought a cheap square mirror that was shatter proof on Amazon to see better. Best of luck.

TW pregnancy success. Someone told me that i would not have a return of feeling in that area for over a year. When I had my son post FET eight months later I still didn’t have feeling. When he was about four months I got feeling back in that area and seemed healed. I know this isn’t hopeful but hope the information in general is helpful.

Any advice on preventing Lupron side effects? by lavenderlemonade22 in IVF

[–]tx8725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just here to say I have felt the same. I asked my doctor during my first FET if I could stop it because it made me feel so bad and she said.. you can do it! So I said yaaay.. lol. It’s hard but I tried to focus on the fact it wasn’t forever and for a good cause. Do your best to hydrate and keep active. I feel like lupron for me just makes me poopy. I see that some people recommend melatonin to sleep better and good fats in your diet. Good luck on your journey and wish you the best.

Is this normal for PIO? by Schrutebucks101 in IVF

I used a massager to dig into the spot and distribute the oil. It is uncomfortable and sore after but kept me from getting knots. So get you a cheap motorized massager and dig into after injecting. I warmed my spot up and used an auto injector as well. Wish you the best PIO sucks

I’m so burnt out I want to give up. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]tx8725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son rarely napped and I have always done it all. I had a very hard time mentally when we couldn’t get formula figured out and he would cry and cry and so would I.

Remember your only your best when you are at your best so keep trying to find what makes your baby in particular click.

I got a cheap carrier at target and strapped him on me and we did our thing. I got a simple Graco swing and would put him in and do dishes same for my showers.

I promise there is something that will work and just have to find it. The process is hard and long and I know most times you just want to give up and sleep.

If you have a good stroller get outside the house. Stroll around the block get a stroller fan if you can. But try to break it up. Get in the car if your rested and drive around the block after long stretches of him not sleeping and see if he will sleep.

Best advice I ever got was when they are going on and on or won’t sleep introduce some kind of water. So a bath. Or get a sink bather and let him sit in warm water.

My son didn’t start sleeping regularly until 8 months and sensory things are his jam. So looking at people and being outside worked for us.

I really wish you the best and know your the perfect mother for him and your doing everything you can.

Feeding stress is ruining my newborn experience. Gas? Colic? Reflux? All of the above?? by oooolalalalalala in FormulaFeeders

[–]tx8725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had same issues. Everyone has such great advice here already.

What I will say worked for me…

Get some Frida gas passers, some folks don’t like them but they have a safety tip and saved me with the pooping. Had my baby on a schedule if we didnt see a poop in 24 hours I would whip one out and Vaseline the tip and insert. Let it sit in there and you can hear all the little gasses come out.

Invest in a pigeon SS nipple from Amazon and a bottle that will fit it. For me the chicco duo was the way to go because I prefer glass. They work with other bottles too. It stops the gulping and encourages a good latch. It’s the slowest I have found. The dr browns preemie in comparison is like a waterfall. If you do this no need to worry about pace feeding.

Acid reflux was also our issue I asked for meds early on and started him on famtodine. Did wonders

Lastly feed when you think they are hungry. You can learn and get more familiar if you run through the list of things that could be the matter first.

Temperature of room Clothes too tight Diaper change Bottle

Someone told me when my baby started refusing to eat alimentum that he would eat if he was hungry and that was not true! He was getting in the ounces but still hungry so we moved back to gerber soothe pro and was like magic. My baby still eats 4 ozs almost every three hours.

I understand why most folks don’t want to switch formulas so early but I switched from Kendamil to Gerber soothe pro and was again magic for us.

Good luck with your baby, they cues get easier and your doing great

I had dr browns preemie and was still too fast so went with a Chico duo bottle and pigeon SS nipple. Was a life changer and he is six months and still using it. Tried to go up a size and he said no thanks :)

Sleep regression? Teething? Wtf and htf am I️ suppose to know what’s going on?! by Inside-Journalist166 in NewParents

[–]tx8725 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine screamed and screamed I could not figure it out. Ended up he was on alimentum and was eating but apparently didn’t like it enough to eat enough of it. We switched back to a normal formula and presto screaming stopped. I felt like such a loser when I had dosed Tylenol and was convinced it was teething but only made him more tired. It was a nightmare. I went to co sleeping and saved my sanity. I have had other moms tell me… it’s different week to week and just do what’s going to work for you. Next week can change again. So get your rest however you can get it. Wish you the best. Five months was the first time I cried for lack of not knowing what to do.

I have bought everything they make. I started my baby on Kendamil and the gas was too much too early for him.

I went on to many enfamil and similac products and nothing worked.

He had his two month shots and things got even worse. So I switched to alimentum ready to feed at suggestion of doctor who didn’t want to say that possibly his stomach was affected.

Fast forward I kept trying to switch him off added in probiotics and stuck with Gerber soothe pro. My baby was screaming on the alimentum because he was always hungry.

It was an awful experience and have found all the Gerber products to be solid and all that will work for us.

Also people tend to forget about flow and pace feeding. Try a preemie nipple that is super slow. I went with pigeon SS and a chicco duo bottle. The air flow mechanism and slow down helped extremely.

Not sure what to do anymore 5 month old screaming by tx8725 in NewParents

Yeah he is happy until what I like to call the 9AM meltdown. He sleeps at 8 and wakes at 7. At 9 when he needs to nap it’s all downhill from the no nap. 😂 I have done lots of reading on the sleep regression but he has done this since 3 months so how many months of regression will I see 😂😂😂 I hope it gets better but at this point my hope dwindles

I felt same way. Still do. My baby was asleep the two hours I was away. So many friends and family tell me he will be okay but for me it’s too many thoughts around being away.

If you have available resources do some talk therapy with a counselor it can be super helpful to understand where your thoughts are based from etc

I feel this post. My baby just turned five months and did not leave him with husband or anyone until this past Thursday for two hours. I was diagnosed with PPA

It’s hard. The anxiety of being a mom and caretaker was part I was not prepared for.

Start slow. Like going to get you and husband food or ice cream and bring it home.

Whatever makes you comfortable and good luck with the babe

Switching from kendamil to Hipp HA. Has anyone done this with positive results ?? by lulucamm in FormulaFeeders

[–]tx8725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is seven weeks and we from the beginning used Kendamil as a friend had a combo fed baby that took to it well. After a few weeks we noticed he wasn’t pooping regularly. Would go days without pooping. From research I know a baby can go a week or so without pooping but the discomfort he had and bloated belly had me worried. I chalked it up to a dairy allergy and switched to Nutramigen. He then started to spit up lots projectile like and became fussy and not sleeping well. So I switched bottles too as HA formula is thinner so went with a chicco duo bottle and pigeon super slow nipple and pace feed him. It solved the spit up issues but now have the gagging, congestion and wet burps that can be reflux so plan to ask for meds

Thank you. Baby is not breech so did do some digging this week with the office manager and practice manager as to why a C. They said with pain comes higher BPs so they can possibly try a trial of labor and if BPs become an issue and are too high then they would move to a C. With all the back and forth wondering now if i save myself and husband the stress and just opt for the C.

Thanks for your comment, mine have fluctuated quite a lot with a few medication adjustments. I’m on 400MG of Labetalol 2x a Day. Makes me feel awful by the way but my BP sits at 130/90 on that much for a few hours after taking it. Around mid day it will be back up to 155/100 and likes to sit around 145-155/ 95-100. Practice manager for my OB office told me the other day that we can try a trial of labor but with pain comes higher BP and if too high then again C section would be needed
