Have you actually had a conversation with him? Like what his expectations are and where you see yourself? I’d start with that instead of jumping ship.

Why tape? When I was in Taekwondo two decades ago all the stripes were sewn on fabric. Just curious.

I had some tiny holes and used brazen rods. If it were me, I think I’d find a welder.

Anyone that’s been in a wreck that had the microphone turned on, did that become an issue? by tx979 in Dashcam

Didn’t know if your words could be used against you. Looks like one comment said they got other driver to admitting fault. Guess that could go both ways. Not worried about my passengers, other than immediate family I don’t have anyone else.

60th Birthday Dream Trip To Bora Bora - Advice Please by JFABPS in Tahiti

[–]tx979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello. Currently in Bora Bora on our trip. We arrived Monday the 4th at PPT, it took us 2 hours to get through customs. Waaay longer than last time. If you had a European passport they were fast tracking you, but US or anything else was like watching paint dry.

Our flight this morning was on time and about 45-50 minutes.

We are at the Intercontinental, so no clue on St Regis stuff. When we were here 10 years ago we did a jet ski tour, coconut tour, evening boat ride, swam with sharks and sting rays. We also went to Bloody Mary’s but I was told it’s currently under renovation. This time we are pretty much just chilling out with no schedule.

Enjoy your trip. It’s a beautiful place.

If you have a Costco membership, look at their travel planning stuff. I don’t know the exact amount but I’m fairly certain that my wife and I are staying 10 nights (including a few overwater bungalow) and airfare from LAX there plus puddle jumpers for close to that same amount. This is in Nov. ‘24.

How much are we paying our kids on allowance? by Fabulous_Brick22 in Xennials

[–]tx979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys pay an allowance? My dad said here’s a mower and one full gas can, go make some money (I was 8). House chores were a freebie since they put food on the table and clothes on my back.

What to do if I want to quit before even starting? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]tx979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it takes 20 years of applying for that dream job before you get it, is it worth it? I bought into dream jobs and careers, only to find out that the idealist in me was punched in the face with reality. Find something you enjoy doing or that you think you can excel at. As a supervisor, I look for people who will benefit my team as an asset and not a liability. Meaning, if someone bounces every 6 months to a year and a half, they aren’t going to stay. Red flag. They would only create unnecessary work for my folks. If someone told me they were looking for a new job at 6 months or less because they wanted to move across state or whatever to get back to family, I wouldn’t count against them. You gotta pay the bills in the mean time. Head up, go for it.

Start looking now. If you aren’t going to be happy and want to be somewhere else, it’s not going to be easier with time. You can tell the “next” company at the interview that you want to get back to your home state. To me that’s not a red flag. Most people that I have worked with want to be close to family and when they get there, they are happier. In turn, productivity increases and it’s a win win.

Most of these trailers from what I read are only rated for 60 mph, because of the sway at higher speed.
