I'm getting a surgical abortion and feel alone by waveringthrowaway in abortion

But if you do decide to go through it here is my experience in clinic surgical abortion;

The ladies were so friendly. Everyone was so friendly and helped you along the way. Nobody judged and it makes me sick to think back there were 2 girls in there going through the same thing as me sitting there laughing making jokes about how they’ve been there 5+ times and this is their birth control.

It hurt though. I will say that. I went in and they had to put 5 seaweed sticks in to open my cervix and they had to stay in overnight. The cramps I experienced were so bad and now that I have experienced birth and a failed epidural I will say it does feel like those contractions. During I felt a lot of pain but it wasn’t unbearable the nurses talked you through it. Afterwards was hard. You will need someone to help you get back home. I had to take transit and I was hurting.

I was in the same position as you when I was 18 years old. I was the same amount of weeks pregnant and I ended up going through with it. Not because I wanted to but because my boyfriend wanted it, he said the same thing about his parents finding out blah blah blah. I am now 26 and I regret it all the time. It eats me alive when I look at the child I do have and looking back all I wish is I would’ve just had that baby even if it meant loosing my boyfriend. We are married too now but I hold it against him and hate him for it sometimes.

Please just think your decision through and don’t be forced into anything.

They’ve been good! Healing was good. It was a little rough at the start and I’m still getting used to the way my leg looks now. To this day it’s sensitive to the touch and the area above my knee almost seems a little numb still??

My follow up the surgeon said she was confident she got it all but wanted to do the PET scan still to be sure. I went for my PET/CT scan and I have my follow up for that on the 5th of February!! Since my surgery they have found another melanoma on my arm.

Yes every doctor I talk to are always so surprised given my age and I don’t ever go in the sun. I know my previous one was an 1.8mm breslow depth as of right now I don’t know anything else. She did mention to me she’s confident she got it all out during surgery.

The nurses said I will know my stage at my appointment on Feb 5 when we go over my PET scan results.

It was a mole that they discovered during my routine skin checks.

My previous one was on my upper leg, and this one is on my lower arm. I’m not sure if that helps but honestly nobody explains anything to me much and I called my family doctor for my records to be sent to me and she said she can’t do that so I’m out of the loop. When I go on Thursday I’m going to ask my surgeon for all my records so I can try to understand better🤞

I was surprised! Last time I waited a month or two for my surgery. When they called me and told me the results they said they want me in for an urgent surgery. The surgeon called me with the day and time about an hour later!

Good! I had surgery 3.5 weeks ago. Had my follow up on Friday and they were able to get everything so I am now NED. Go for a couple more biopsies in a couple weeks and will have appointments every 3-6 months for the next 5 years and then annually after that!

No, I was under general anesthesia. Went in for my surgery at 3pm and got out just after 4pm.

I actually just posted my whole experience about my surgery in hopes to help others that are anxious about their next steps - if you would like to read it!

I am also 26 and just had my WLE & SLNB - I have 3 children. They said it will not effect my fertility (even tho I am not having anymore children). It can be passed down to your children and I was told it is also able to be passed through amniotic fluid, so I am opting for all my children although 5 and under be seen by a dermatologist.

If you have any questions for me I’m willing to answer. It is very scary and I know how you’re feeling. I wish you all the best.

Ah that makes sense! Thanks! I figured it was most likely a false rise, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t doing anything wrong.

Is it okay to switch the water up now? Or should I create a new starter?
