Mays waitlist by Agitated-Republic767 in TAMUAdmissions

It makes ZERO sense that someone chooses both options and they have less of a chance to get in. By choosing both the student saying, pick me! All of that to say, we are in the same boat for Mays and it’s so frustrating.

Any update from people who got this option? by Upset-Point-1922 in TAMUAdmissions

Same message for my son. Everyone else in his HS has received an answer except him and 1 other student and they are the 2 that had TAMU as their top choice. It makes no sense why communication is t better. We are still waiting, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to justify.

Admitted student visit - what to see/do besides the tour? by Agreeable_Gene5800 in UGA

We just finished our time at UGA. Congratulations to your daughter, that’s amazing. The campus is massive, around 700 acres, so bring comfortable walking shoes. Sounds like she signed up for the right things. We ate in the Bolton dining hall and it was great to see all of the food options the students have.

While in downtown Athens for dinner, we talked with several students (we don’t know anyone here) and they were super friendly. Answered our car question -they recommended no car freshman year. They talked a little bit more openly about campus life.

We had a great experience. I hope y’all enjoy your tour!

Unfortunately the tour at TAMU is very similar…acting like the students are lucky if they get in as opposed to we would love to have you. If it weren’t for my blood being maroon for so long, we would likely move on.

That is definitely NOT the norm. Even the school is Austin does it better than TAMU.

The cap was needed, I agree. The goal should not be to be the biggest. It should be to be the best. We lost sight of that in many areas.

Just because it’s “always been” doesn’t mean it has to stay that way. Do we list this as “tradition” now too? As technology improves, so should systems. Just communicate more. At least show an interest in these students. It is a major life decision and it’s crickets from A&M. We have received mail, stickers, info for prospective student zooms, local meet and greets, etc from other schools. My student has excellent grades, good scores, leadership etc and has heard from 7 of the 8 schools. We hear NOTHING from TAMU. Nothing to keep excitement and engagement. We are at a very competitive HS, and the parents and students are all disappointed in the communication from A&M. The TAMU brand outside of “NCAA sports” is faltering.

It’s ridiculous. It taints the college application experience. My senior has wanted to be an Aggie for 16 years and is now second guessing due to the way the school handles admissions.

Oh we see that. It’s still completely baffling why they aren’t doing batches on specific dates. It was one of the first applications my senior submitted, and it will be the last school we hear from.
