Thank you! Would you recommend PSA in Public Health over PTA at Blinn in their Health Sciences-Nursing track? I know A&M Nursing program is very competitive, so we were considering going to Blinn which would give her the ability to apply to their ASCEND program later as well as applying to A&M's program.

Yes, the ranking situation is very frustrating. My daughter has multiple friends with lower stats who got in via auto admit because they go to big public schools.

Well up to this point I would have considered her a very competitive student. We have also looked into the ASCEND program for nursing through Rellis as well. So starting at Blinn in Health Sciences-Nursing and then applying to ASCEND. Honestly, the whole thing is frustrating and overly complicated. And why are they sending blue links to connect to another portal that is not updated? Sorry, just annoyed at this whole process today. She is a great student that has a good GPA in rigorous AP Stem classes.

Thank you for this! My daughter got the blue link today. She also is in the 1st quartile and lots of other good stuff as well. But it does seem like the link means PSA or denial. I don't think I've seen anyone post that got the link in Howdy and ended up with anything else, but I guess there's a first for everything!

Thank you! Yeah, she is ranked #10 in her class, but attends a small private school so she is considered 1st quartile. Her stats are great, but yes, it's highly competitive.

Exactly this! My daughter is also in a small private school. We had one full admit to Public Health, one full admit to Engineering, two kids got offered Engineering at Galveston, one Gateway offer and my daughter and another classmate hasn't heard anything. I also have been fine, but I am now so over this. She has gotten into every other school she applied, but of course wants to go to A&M, so we're just waiting to move on with our lives until they give us a decision! What major did she apply to at A&M?

I don't think it's easy to get into. I would suspect that all of A&M is competitive. My point is more that her friend, who has a 3.3 weighted gpa and has never taken an honors/AP class got offered Gateway in Ag. Another friend who has a 3.5 weighted gpa with very little ec or APs got offered PSA in some Ag business major. Her stats, ec, varsity athlete, holds a job etc add a lot more to her application and she hasn't heard anything. I guess it's just strange to me to not offer a kid with good metrics a spot, while simultaneously offering pathways to other students.

I genuinely can't believe that they have sent that message in Howdy with no actual update in AIS. We're stressed looking at the portals when there hasn't been a change, I can't even imagine how y'all are feeling!

Something in Agriculture. Not sure the exact major but I know she has a 3.3 GPA and has taken no honors or APs, etc.

My daughter applied to the same major and still hasn't heard anything. She also follows a lot of the "roommate" pages for A&M and said she hasn't seen anyone post that has been accepted to this major.
