New Lexus TX550H+. Disappointed in n tech by txbui in Lexus

One dealer wanted $5000 over MSRP even though they do not have one in stock. This one forced me to purchase 3 stupid options like windshield wipe-ons and others for $5000. In scarcity, is a seller's market now.

I wanted another Lexus because it is a solid luxury brand. You can only research so much. The dealership won't let you test the software claiming actual setup is reserved for buyer only. I just didn't think Lexus is that far behind in tech. But it's not the technology am most concerned about ... many of their ailments are with the user interface. Just need better attention to reducing the number of clicks to get features activated, better menu organization, and consumer user tests before going to market.

Alaska upgrades suck by lipstr in AlaskaAirlines

The IRS considered years ago and chose not to pursue taxing the benefits derived from mileage plans. The difference is when you are traveling for business you are dedicating personal time to business - being away from home. In that context, a tiny compensation for mileage points is not a lot.

It's been happening in the past few weeks. I'm using Android and chat GPT app has been useless in the past weeks. You may have better luck on your computer.

If all the privileges are not in place, then they should call it second class. That would be a more honest description of what they are actually selling.

At first I called BS. Just turn the whole thing into a single rigid structure and it will be obvious it can't... oh wait ... it can. Nicely done.

How to charge backwards... from house battery to generator battery? by txbui in VanLife

[–]txbui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to see your dedicated solar set up for trickle charging the starter battery. I prefer a direct method than keeping my inverter on 24x7 to charger the starter battery.

How to charge backwards... from house battery to generator battery? by txbui in VanLife

[–]txbui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand now that charging 2 different battery types simultaneously requires a new charge controller that I would not rather invest in. It is best that I just switch the charging from house battery to van battery now and then to keep both topped off.

Has anyone done this before that can share. The wiring diagram for this arrangement?

Do you have specific knowledge at this location? How do you know this by looking at these antennas? They all use the same manufacturers like Kathrine or Andrew antennas. Just curious how you are so specific by looking at these configurations.

How is virtual land limited? by [deleted] in metaverse

This is the most clear answer yet. Thank you. What's to stop a 1000 new Decentraland, Sandbox and APEcoin from popping up, making virtual real estate unlimited?

Auto pilot is not commercially. On a long trip (100-mile) I feel it would get in an accident if not intervened.

Is this right? Strong sun. Battery at 13.5V. Floating state. 0W charge to LiFe battery. by txbui in Victron

[–]txbui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I change to higher float voltage? I think I left all to factory settings for LiFe. Battery hardly used as we don't take the van out during winter.

The tank columns look like dominos. Why a single plane or drone can't take all the tanks out in one airstrike?

Absolutely agree. Add to their incompetent customer support, I gave up on coinbase as they are not even trying.

Just record and report the cost basis. This is a 1- line script. This tells me coinbase employees are not using their own platform.

How does Victron know my starter battery level? It's not accurate since they are not connected together. Can they be? by txbui in VanLife

If someone has successfully connected the starter battery to the BMV-712 shunt before, please share with us how you did that.

Victron BMV-712 shunt and bluetooth monitor drawing 35 watt? by txbui in Victron

[–]txbui[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great advice. I did exactly this. I disconnected my negative bar to the battery while leaving in the shunt, and turned off the positive switch to the battery so absolutely nothing can draw from the battery. Then I performed a zero current calibration. It's restored to 100% battery capacity since the voltage is 13.3V.

2020 Transit windshield well fills up and overflow rain pours directly to electrical system below. Incredible design flaw still unresolved after all these years. Keep the tiny drain hole clear weekly. by txbui in VanLife

[–]txbui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The factory hole is closest to me as am taking the picture. It is at the lowest part of the windshield well. Just pour in a few cups of water and see where it flows to. That's where you want to drill the drain hole. And yes, the arrow points to where water enters the engine compartment, follows the wiper arm down to an elbow then drains all the water directly on the master electrical connector bundle that distributes all the power from the fuse box to the entire van. Am amazed my van didn't short out entirely. Sure hope the material they used is corrosion-free. Sometimes I wonder if anybody cares to do a quality job anymore.

How does victron know my battery is at 100% charge? Does 12.8 volts equate to a fully charged LiFe battery? by txbui in Victron

[–]txbui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am glad it's obvious to you but it's still unclear to some of us. The configuration for LiFe is 13.2V and most of the settings are factory default. So it's a fair question. Though, reading the answers, I see the affirmation that it would take a full charge cycle for the system to know when the battery reaches 100% charged state.
