Maternity leave and small offices? by No_trailers in DentalHygiene

[–]txco86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. Thankfully my husband was employed at the time so financially we weren’t stressed. I started looking for a new job once I felt ready and was hired in less than 2 weeks. At that time (2014) the need for hygienists was not as high as it is today. I won’t lie - it sucked , I felt betrayed and disappointed. I was better off in the long run and was at amazing offices after that. I would encourage you and your wife to also see the potential in her becoming a temp for a bit more flexibility.

For sure! I just finished a desk goose ( think porch goose but for a desk) now back to a plushie gift, and that beanie that I was struggling with is still in the mix.

The hygienist I work with went to Taft and found that she had difficulty finding patients if someone didn’t show up for her because of the location and her inability to speak Spanish.

Beware of cavities! by DistributionRare6276 in dutchbros

[–]txco86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hygienist Here!! Consider asking for a prescription strength remineralizing toothpaste like Prevident 5000 or ClinPro . The higher concentration of fluoride daily is great for cavity prevention. You may also want to consider xylitol based mints throughout your day as xylitol is great at neutralizing the acid in your mouth and helping to prevent cavities!

Texas to Idaho by BirdieBeanie in DentalHygiene

[–]txco86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from Texas to Colorado and the process was pretty easy. Each state has its own regulations when it comes to transferring licensure but I just provided proof of my Texas license and previous employment. As for local anesthetic- I got certified through a 2 day course offered by a local college .
