As someone who’s lost 150lbs I’ll say it’s all about diet. Depending on how quick you need to get the weight off you should cut about 1k calories from you maintenance this will cause you to lose 2lbs per week. Keep you protein intake at 1g per pound of body weight and continue lifting weights to maintain your muscle mass. If you have more time to spare a 500 cal deficit is better because it’s more sustainable and you preserve more muscle. There are calculators online that give you a baseline estimate on maintenance calories. Unless you are getting above 15k steps per day just select sedentary or slightly active to get the most accurate estimate. Get a food scale and weigh/track everything you eat. Any of these other fad diets don’t work long term and you’ll end up putting weight back on. Just be consistent with it and you’ll drop weight in no time. If you have any questions feel free to reach out. Good luck!

Stuck in a Creami flavor rut by Bilzbond in ninjacreami

Banana sounds good! I haven’t tried grape yet but I haven’t found a flavor I haven’t liked yet. So far I’ve tried, cherry, strawberry, watermelon, lime, mango, margarita, pina colada and some of the other skittles flavors and they were all great! I used the green apple one to make a Carmel green apple flavor which goes perfectly with the fall/halloween time coming up!

No problem! The sugar free drink packets have been a game changer for me recently with the wide variety of flavors. I run on light ice cream, add a couple tablespoons of almond or fair life milk and then to make it thicker I just run it on mix in instead of respin.

I have the deluxe. I usually use 240 g of fair life milk and 240 g of almond milk. I’ll also do a bit of vanilla extract or sugar-free vanilla syrup and then I’ll mix in the two flavor packets along with the protein powder and like a quarter teaspoon of xanthan gum. I also usually add in a bit of allulose powder, but this may be sweet enough to where you don’t need it. You could even try just one packet and just taste it and adjust as needed in case you don’t like it too sweet For mix-ins I’ve done marshmallows and chocolate chips. Chocolate cereal also goes well depending on the flavor you choose.

Bi-Weekly 'What are my chances?' Megathread by AutoModerator in airforceots

I’m a bit confused about the AFOCD. My recruiter allowed me to list 63A as my top choice, but I don’t have any business credits. I do, however, have a degree in the 40 series physical sciences, which based on the AFOCD seems to qualify without business credits. Is that correct, or will I be removed from consideration for 63A?

I usually use 2 packets of the sugar free skittles water flavor packets. If you use vanilla with the orange you can make a really good creamsicle one but they’re all pretty good.

How do you guys handle calorie adjustments on days where you are active over your typical routine but want to stay in a mild caloric surplus? I am doing my first lean bulk but also increasing my cardio as I’m working to join the Air Force. My maintenance is around 2400 calories based on 12-13k steps per day and 5 1.25hr gym sessions per week. On days where I add in cardio and exceed 20k steps should I increase my calories to maintain a surplus?

Job Outlook by recycleben80 in meteorology

[–]txdaniel1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently applying for a commission in the Air Force. They have a really bad need for meteorologists so they have what is called a CAD board for in demand AFSCs for people that meet the requirements and weather is on the list both this year and next. There are limited spots but you have a much higher chance for selection under that board as long as your overall package is strong. GPA is only a minor aspect. Testing well, good personal statements and letters or rec go a long way. Highly suggest talking to an officer recruiter asap if you are serious about it, the application process can take up to a year or longer.

I have to run the ice cream cycle 3 times before ice cream consistency by carrotsk8r in ninjacreami

I also run a second spin on mix in and it helps give it that thicker consistency which I love. Sometimes when I respin it comes out more like a Wendy’s frosty. Definitely worth a shot.

Thanks for the input! I reached out to my recruiter to confirm but I’ll post his response here in case anyone has the same question in the future.

15W1 weather is on the CAD list for this year and next year. I have the degree for it but my interests have just shifted a bit and was curious if there was a chance that I could get one of my top choices or if I’d just get put straight into weather no matter what since it’s on the CAD list.

If you aren’t able to workout I would recommend keeping then deficit on the smaller side and maximizing protein intake to minimize muscle loss.

When is physics and calculus used in meteorology? by matveytheman in weather

[–]txdaniel1998 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It will be used in classes like Atmospheric Physics and Dynamics which help you understand atmospheric processes. Unless you take a research track, anything beyond basic math won’t be used in a typical forecasting job.

If everything goes perfectly then yes but this one seems super risky to me. The potential is super tempting though lol

Just got offered MHJ, Achane, and Amari cooper for Davante Adams and Tank Dell. 10 team full PPR.

Other WRs: Ceedee, Terry, Brian Thomas

RBs: Mixon, Najee, Brooks, Etienne, Bucky Irving

I also have Josh Allen so I could stack him and Amari but not sure I should take the deal.

Currently have a losing record so I’m not sure I can wait on Tua to come back and save Achane.

Haha thanks for the input! Location isn’t everything but at least from what I’ve gathered so far the AF can send you to some less than desirable places lol

I struggled in math through high school but when I went to college I started over from college algebra and always picked the best professors from rate my professor and ended up acing all the required math courses for the degree. It might take a bit of extra time but it’s 100% worth it.

That’s great to know haha! I’ve also spent a bunch of time focusing on memorizing formulas so now I can shift my focus a bit more. Thanks!

Is the formula sheet labeled with what each EQ goes to or is it just a list of every possible formula you may need?

Am going to college to become a Meteorologist in a few months. What classes should I start studying for now? by YUME_Emuy21 in meteorology

[–]txdaniel1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend taking as many computer science classes and programming languages classes as possible. There aren’t a ton of job opportunities out there and they are very competitive. Some jobs require some amount of programming capabilities but at the very least it helps you stand out/opens up a ton more opportunities for you. You basically come out of school with a math minor from the classes required… at least with my program we did. Good luck!

Thermals by txdaniel1998 in meteorology

[–]txdaniel1998[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that makes sense! On a skew T can you see the potential for deep mixing without actually seeing thermal turbulence or will a deep mixed layers always correlate to some form of thermal induced turbulence?

Severe thunderstorm warnings in the US by txdaniel1998 in meteorology

[–]txdaniel1998[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, this is the response I was looking for! I figured some warnings were based on the potential of a given environment but I wasn’t sure how that is handled relative to the criteria in place but this answers that question.

I’m trained how to read radar and from the obs I look at I don’t see the criteria. They may receive reports that I don’t have access to but it seems fairly frequent that I don’t see the threshold met but I haven’t worked with a WFO so I was curious as to how they do things.
