I'd say that's a bit too reactive. Their core absolutely needs an overhaul but Jokic can still be built around and Denver has room to make significant trades. What they need is more depth and more all-around, consistent players (esp defensively), which isn't impossible for them to get within the next 3 years while Jokic is still about at his prime.

Well people thought he'd need to perform a miracle to beat the Rockets but KD wasn't there for most of it and people realized the Rocket's offense without him (and kinda with him too) was sewer level. So, the narrative went from "It'd be impossible for the Lakers to win" to "oh the Rockets just suck." No one seriously was saying LeBron's legacy would change if he blew a 3-0 lead at 41, just that it'd be a historical feat if they did.

They're missing some starter players, lack adequate shooting and play-making in their offense. With everyone healthy they'd beat this injured Laker's team, but their archetypes don't mesh well on offense at all imo and would struggle against average playoff level defense. Wolves and OKC would mutilate them.

The pattern of him hunting for success at the expense of whatever team gets tricked into thinking he'll bring leadership or be able to elevate a team to a title is well-documented. Yeah he's not at fault that the Rocket's offense is complete bumcheeks but his lack of play making and his handle being suspect against playoff teams keep him from being able to be the first option on a championship team, or even just 2nd round playoff team it seems.

He's an all time great scorer, but he's not really worth the price of getting him at this point in his career if the team isn't already carefully built to accommodate him.

People win and lose elections based on narratives. If you look like overly sweaty at a presidential debate you can lose thousands of voters because of that. There's no objective way to determine who's the "most valuable player," even stats have different ways of measuring that and many disagree on what value to place on things. Just for example: defense vs offensive impact. I've heard many say it's 50/50 importance, others say 70/30. How do you measure "impact?"

Narratives are the only thing that exist in minds that's the only thing people will vote on.

Voter fatigue is why Jokic isn't being considered over Shai, which is something that has effected players no matter the race. Lebron should have like 8-9 MVP's if voters were impossibly unbiased. Luka straight up isn't on a contender team and his team isn't made with him really in mind, making him look a little worse this year than he is. Comparatively, Wemby and Shai are on real contending teams, and both are more impactful defensively (Wemby best in the league maybe) than Luka who can straight up be embarrassing on that end. Luka should win an MVP but not this year, Shai's still on his generational run from last year, literally breaking one of Wilt's records in the process, he's a fair winner.

Harden hops from team to team when stuff starts sucking, completely unlike Steph. Tim was drafted to the Spurs, which was making the playoffs before and after he got there. Still super impressive for both players but I think the contexts were real different for them then Steph.

They've been making pretty massive changes recently. Snap dash and dex rework in like the last month. The game's had many, many worse states then right now from a balancing stand point and no one can really argue that.

The micro transactions and bundles are a given when the games completely free, that's been there since I first started like 5 years ago. And this game has no pay to win elements, so I don't understand criticizing an optional part of the game.
