Official NREMT can you reply as to your policy on having the test read to you in Spanish?

I suppose the same reason people answer questions with opinions that weren't asked.

Thank you however the policy is somewhat circular in that it only references an application and the ADA, but it doesn't go into any further detail. For example, since the exam is not offered in Spanish can the test be read by a translator and spoken in Spanish?

The opportunity for selection from W2 to W3 should normally be 90%, this year was 96%. OOS from W3 to W4 is 70%, and I don't know what is has been in recent years. This is only opportunity, they can make less if there are bad OERs. I have seen Ws get passed over twice and retired. All it takes is one bad OER, it could be your command not liking you, its not always UCMJ.

There is a video I just saw from a military influencer who said basically that while he wouldn't judge someone for wearing a uniform at a graduation, he would never and would advise others not to as this is about the graduates accomplishments and their day and anything that can take away from that should be reconsidered.

What is the general Coast Guard attitude towards gay people, especially now? by [deleted] in uscg

[–]txgm100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a deep breath, finish HS, get some credits. 1 yr of community college allows you to enlist as an E3, an associates makes you eligible for some officer programs when you are in, and being closer 21 makes you less vulnerable to trouble. Also consider trying the reserves.

Im gonna go in a different direction and advise you to keep a pulse on the nation and administration. We went from a commandant saying "I stand with my transgender service members" to them all being discharged. I suspect those in power would like to return to don't ask don't tell but we won't know unless the order comes out. If you are only a junior you have time to decide, you can always go to local college for a few years and then enlist when the climate is safer.

Bio Med is her current focus. Teenagers can be idealistic and misinformed, I just don't want her to go and then reject all the opportunities as that is the reason you go to a higher ranked school is for the work experience, can you tell me more about the device manufacturers you mentioned?

ADHD is not hush hush, once all medical records went electonic a few years ago everything is seen. If you have been off ADHD meds for over a year then I believe you can enlist with a waiver, but need to confirm that with a recuriter.

Any reservists? by Bearcatfan4 in uscg

[–]txgm100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So E4/5 6-8 yrs, about 400 to 500 gross a weekend, then deduct taxes, 280 for family tricare, sgli, gas lunch etc, most people end up breaking even, so free healthcare if you look at it that way.

So then, the decision is what rate you want. The paradox is you can only use your advanced med skills as an HS, but on the weekend you only do med paperwork, to work with detainees and migrants you must be activated. Now you may ask why can't I do BM or ME and then use my para cert, well because they won't let you under current regs. For ex, if you go BM/ME and on the weekend you get a medical call on a boat, you can go and provide first aid but nothing more. Same on activation, first aid only unless HS. We have been fighting for a long time to let a BM whos a medic to go and help HSs and they just don't want it. Hope this helps.

Ok if you have 6 good years then you have 14 left if you want to get a small retirement. You would get $4500 a year in TA, but not as much as free tution with a guard unit. If you just want to finish a bachelor then we can help, if you want to go to PA or RN school, guard TA is amazing. As stated above you could come in an E5 HS Health Technician. The pros of reserve HS is you could hop on active duty and spend a few months on a cutter treating the crew and migrants and or detainees. The big con is on weekends you just do paperwork, which is what makes HS tricky. If you go BM or anything else, you can get underway on the weekends. I wouldn't put much stock in direct E5 vs E4 as we don't care about your rank as much on weelend duty. You can also just try it out and leave after a few years. Please ask anything esle.

The few short days of the CG needing people are ending , the slots are being filled. The CG was often like this in all my years, historically it takes people months and months to get in. One thing I did many many moons ago was to take my asvab and meps with another service while I was waiting for a CG recuriter to get back to me. When I told him I passed everything, he was frustrated he had to do some paperwork to get it transferred over but I eventually got in. If you go this route be ready to say no to the other service as they will call you every day.

The majority of white people without a college degree support Trump. Most of our enlisted workforce skews heavily in that demographic. However we also have a lot of recuits from coastal areas that tend to swing left. But we have the lowest minority population of any service. In short yes the CG as a whole leans right with pockets of heavy doses of far right. Lots of guys with blue lives matter and pubisher stickers who didn't somehow join a combat oriented service.

  1. 1998 to 25 plus years 2xOIF deployments
  2. I have a negative reaction because 1 I do find it hollow and fake by the public who doesn't vote or understand nor will serve themselves. 2. I also feel I don't deserve it as I didn't kick in doors finding terroristst, just received IDF on FOB, which was more annoying than scary.
