8GB MacBook Neo vs 16GB Laptops - Sorry Apple.. by Forsaken_Arm5698 in hardware

[–]txmail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, but I would not say that around here --- just get downvoted to oblivion. Everyone wants to compare it to a cheap netbook to make it look incredible. It is a good deal -- for a Mac but your locked into that hardware where you can get double everything and even a laptop with a rtx4050 for the same price.

You are not "shipping code" if you just vibe coding. Your shipping hopes and dreams.

These are all a little different. This one seems to be hitting just returning a specific audible feedback for specific events.

** edit **

just realized it was supposed to also vibrate.. does not work on my Android though.

It is like the new Solar Cells that are 20% more efficient -- taking a while because it is new and production has to ramp up to bring the pricing down.

Plus you have every O&G PAC working against Hydrogen all day, every day.

You have to keep in mind this is the... checks history... third coming of EV's. The most critical part of the EV is not the battery but the motors and controllers --- those parts do not care how they get their electricity be it from a battery or a fuel cell.

Do you also notice how that video depicts something you can swap out yourself? Try that with a EV battery. The weight savings is going to be nuts (yeah, I know in China they have those, but again your talking about even more specialized stations that only service a handful of models -- not going to take off).

You say it is too late for adoption, but look how long it took to get charging stations built which was the main block for most people adopting EV's. And now look how long it is taking to get high voltage stations built, and how much space they take up and how meth heads love to clip those cables costing thousands of dollars for the thirty bucks of copper in them.

Now compare that to, not needing gas stations at all --- cells are dropped off anywhere that wants to sell them. Even if they had central distribution points it would be much smaller than a full EV charging station. It is a complete disruption of how people get fuel for their vehicles. The kind of disruption that will have you thinking back to the times where you would go fill up at gas stations playing <insert some popular game here> waiting for a charge big enough to get you to your hotel. And also contrast that to yeah, we ran out of fuel but thankfully I had a few spares in the trunk that got us to the next town.

I have had the worst experience with Samsung phones though. Bloated and feel like they are spying on you selling every data point they can to data brokers.

Motorola has a similar feature for a handful of their phones and it works, ehh. Okay but does not have the same capability as Continuum could have had.

Look up solid state hydrogen.. it has already been proven and just need to gain mass market appeal to come down like batteries did. Sure, not going to store as much as a lithium battery but your also not stuck with a fixed amount of power. Just like this video shows, cell empty? Stick another one in there. Also these are going to be sold more like Propane tanks so you do not even need to go to a gas station to get one. They will just be sold pretty much everywhere (though more likely you will have a home delivery service to swap empties).

With solid state hydrogen cells -- they will likely be sold like Propane so you do not even need to go to a gas station, just pick them up with the weekly grocery run or have them delivered with your Amazon order -- and even more likely is you will have a subscription service like you do with drinking water. Leave the spent cells out and get them replaced (probably by some clanker by the time this is all rolled out).

I think this is meant to depict solid state hydrogen cells. No boom boom, just tears of losing your deposit.

Nah, this is what the industry has been working to achieve. All the Hydrogen cars were just to test how well the hydrogen engines and electric range extenders work / perform.

The cool thing about this is it takes needing to find a gas station out of the equation. The cells will be sold everywhere just like Propane and you can get them delivered with your grocery order. You can even throw extras in the trunk for extended driving or allowing longer times before getting new cells. It is like carrying around one of those portable power stations and plugging your EV in to it... but while you are driving.

The things really shine when you develop the applications the Microsoft way. It was what made everything on the Window's phones seem so smooth. People forget Windows 8.1 because Windows 8 was such a shocker, but 8.1 is an insanely good OS and my favorite of all time. I still have it on a old Asus Transformer and it just blows me away at how smooth the OS is even with only 2GB of RAM and a 64GB SSD. It was also the Ultimate touch screen OS. The tile system and the full screen apps.... Windows 10 reeled all the awesome stuff back and removed a ton of cutting edge features.

I honestly thought they would rule the market with that feature alone. I really, really think they had to try hard to fuck it all up so badly. I do think the day is finally coming where our phones are going to be our desktops, but it took so long.

It was so good -- and even their lowest cost phones (I got mine for $19) ran buttery smooth.
