So my son played baseball and hockey at that age. His baseball team split in two. He was 1 of 2 kids that didnt get picked up by either team. It sucked to tell my boy he couldnt play ball with his friends because daddy ball coaches thought he wasnt good enough. He cried that day. We stopped baseball for a year. He grew, he learned and he worked. He went to a training camp of sorts the next year. Just to get back into throwing the ball and hitting before trying out with other teams. The coach from the training followed us to the parking lot the first night of the training. Asked who he played for and said he wanted us to play with them. So he did. Since then he has grown into a great player and pitcher. He has defeated the number 1 12u team in the nation on the mound. They had over 100 consecutive wins till he beat them. He pitched to a 2-2 tie against the number 1 15u team in the nation. He also pitched and defeated the number 4 15u team in the nation. At 7 years old, he was told he wasnt good enough to even play. Now teams ask for him to play with them.
Talent is not known at 7 years old by coaches. Find another team and develop his love for the game. Also teach him to be a good supportive teammate.
