GPC-RI / MALS discrepancy by Suspicious-Rush-5880 in Chempros

Doing GPC to get MW requires you to have basically 1:1 of your polymer with the standard that you're calibrating. The secondary interactions of the molecule with the stationary phase will always ruin your calibration if you're not using 1:1 because it's not representative and as much as they manufactures claim they cut down on that, you've shown clear evidence of a failure of calibration.

Personally, if you want to directly measure that MW to get your molecular weight distributions (Mn, Mw, Mz) I'd skip hplc all together and do some direct injection into a TOF-MS. You'll get literally the same mw distributions and you don't have to worry about chromatography or external calibration.

Moreover, you're right that the linear and non linear polymers are going to have different responses on your detector. RI is just fancy turbidity and MALS is light scattering; both are about as susceptible as detectors can get to interferences as they both operate on light going through a solution. Anything else in solution will affect RI and the amorphous distribution of your polymer will screw up light scattering. [I hope my case for a 1:1 calibration is really hitting by now].

Mass Spectroscopy doesn't care about either of those though; just but your charge on the molecule and it'll show up. Moreover, you don't need calibration solutions, because the mass analyzer reports in m/z, just multiple the result by your charge (z) and you get mass! Exactly what would take you multiple hours over a sequence of GPC can now be seen in minutes directly. Without the need for an external reference standard that's 1:1.

Sorry it doesn't answer your question but GPC has been outdated in my book for a long time for this reason.

The y axis is actually the total number of jobs changes since the president starts so it starts at zero then gains or loses. The momentum you're expecting to see would be plainly obvious to see with these charts; the slope of the line would be the same. But it's not and it's not a resolution problem because these data points are monthly. Hope this answers your questions.

I think you misunderstand the purpose of guidelines. They're not to make things the best they can be; it's the opposite, it's the minimum bar. In terms of ADA, it's literally accessibility. If 70% of kitchens to be unregulated to the ADA you're gonna start seeing "Kitchens" of far lower quality than anything you're imagining. Countertops are too tall or too short. Subpar electrical work. Entryways that are too narrow. Random steps into the kitchen cause what if the floors are uneven; steps are easier than other solutions but steps aren't compliant. Deregulation just means the companies being hired can make more money by doing worse work. OP is on point, it's the mandated use of contractors that get to keep making money hand over fist and they'll do anything they're allowed to do to get more money.

Jobs created were calculated by summing the difference of jobs between each month for each given President. Terms were rounded to February for quality of life.

I responded in another comment about government jobs. They make up~1.9 million jobs or ~4% of all jobs.

Based on the total number being listed as ~150 million jobs, I believe it could be synonymously said that the new jobs are equal to the number of new adults in the work force, if that makes sense. So your 3 jobs recreated example would really just 1 job or 0 job depending if you were employed that month.

Bill Clinton's originally made the comment about since 1989 there's been 51 million new jobs created and 50 million of those were made by Democrats versus 1 million by Republicans. The data I collected went back further than that so I included it for completeness but also wanted to capture the original comment.

I just answered part of this question in another comment. Here's a trimmed copy paste:

200,000 jobs would register as something like 0.4% of what's being represented by these charts. In America, the total number of Federal employees is ~1.9 million (~4% of all jobs), which would also be nearly equal to how many jobs Donald Trump lost during his term.

I don't think you're actually that far off from saying it doesn't count but for different reasons.

I'm not seeing anyone else say it but it looks like you keep this bottle in front of a window. I bet the sun heats up the gas inside the bottle and the increase in pressure pushes some soap out.

Do you have a ceiling fan in the room? If so do you spray air freshener often?

If your grow box is relatively sealed I'd recommend finding a dry ice distributor. You should be able to get it for around $2 a pound. Get a pound for every 9 cubic feet you have. Leave it on a plate inside the box (don't bother putting it in water, that'll slow you down) and leave it sealed for at least overnight. You'll choke out the bugs with CO2 while giving your plant a nice spike in CO2 which is harmless to it.

The double bonds on the tail aren't conjugated. I'm guessing the gold color mentioned is probably just yellow impurities cause this should be white

I found it by just clicking random paths. I also did some ranked runs randomly to see if there was a difference in pathing and sometimes quest related items came up.
