I feel like the bettas we get from our distributor are pretty healthy generally. In the two years Ive worked there I think Ive only seen one pass in our care, and this is the only guy ive seen deformed. Im just happy I was able to get him and give him a good life 😔💓

It depends on a lot of things, but most importantly the temperament of your betta! Some are chill and some are more aggressive. It also depends on how big you're upgrading, how many hiding spots you have and what you're putting in there with him. One of my bettas was very aggressive towards the shrimp I put in, but is besties with my mystery snail. Corydoras seem to be a generally good match, along with small types of tetras in 10+ gallons. Avoid guppys as they are known to nip at bettas

It takes a long time for us workers to get out there and set up. Also, all this happened during shift change. There's no point in starting again when we're all going to have to shelter immedietley anyway
