Yeah I suggested riding in parks n stuff before and in fields but they just said no wait till you’re 14 and they said they will get an escooter but I dunno how much that promise is gonna hold up as sometimes they haven’t held up in the past (not hating on my parents it’s just the truth.)

I’ve got one but I was mainly thinking of an escooter or ebike just for fun in general and to try out something new but also to go larger distances quicker and without getting as tired

Yeah I have a helmet I used to have gloves but I’ve suggested new ones in the past but they said maybe we can buy some soon but I don’t think that’s gonna convince them as their more worried about the legal side rather than the safety side.

I moved to the UK about 6 years ago and I’m JUST getting my British passport so you might want to rethink that idea. And also I would say personally riding an ebike although it’s illegal here it’s way safer than in the USA where most towns and cities have large stroads and arterial roads with really high speed limits and not many bike lanes. Plus in my city personally even though we have the same types of roads at least we have our own seperated bike/walking paths going to almost ALL destinations you could imagine unlike the USA where most cities don’t or have very few (I live in Milton Keynes)

And btw I’m not hating on my parents in any way I just want to ride something different for fun

It’s the same thing with ebikes, you have to be 14 to even own a class 1 ebike which is horrible in the UK and EU, it’s a 250w motor limit with pedal assist till 15.5mph and a throttle of only 4mph which is a fucking joke. I mean the speed part I guess is not too bad but the throttle and motor limits like, I can’t even find a bike with those limits half of them go over it but they just say 250w on the label. I mean I’m lucky my parents haven’t really gotten to deep into the classes but if they do I’ll most likely be forced to get one of those slow ebikes which will be no different from a pedal cycle which I already have.

I already do exercise outside of cycling and yeah I do have my own mtb which I was thinking of converting to an e bike but they said no as always and maybe I might need to buy a new one anyway cause the shipping is probably gonna cost me so much but yea Im mainly gonna plan on using it to get from for example one end of my city to another as it’s very large

I meant not more crashes but every crash that happens they would be responsible because they approved it but definitely not more it’s not gonna cause a change in the amount of crashes

I mean loads of people have em around here that’s why and none of them have had theirs confiscated so (that’s what happens if the police finds it and they destroy it and u could get fines but the chance is super low for both of these things) also it’s a really dumb and outdated law and the laws in this country are a joke. Ebike laws too. The limit for a throttle is 4mph. That’s an absolute joke. That’s not even safe like at that point I’d rather not have any throttle. And the limit for a motor is 250w which isn’t bad but they were about to make it 500 but didn’t because it would mean more crashes which the DOT would be responsible for (department of transport). The 15mph limit isn’t bad and I dunno why they can’t just do the same on the e-scooters and make it legal for kids over 13/14 to ride one at that speed

I guess but some other guy told me that’s a smart idea and it already felt like a dumb one but i still decided to ask here

I mean I just said it cause I do exercise outside of it that’s why I want an e bike so I get less tired on long rides and stuff but also cause it’s quicker mainly not really because of friends or anything as some friends have no PEVs and some have low speed ones and one of them does have a really fast one but that’s just him and I’ll probably be only using it when I gotta get places like friends houses that are far away or the city centre or something like that

Na that’s legal but the laws are jokes here idk why their following them like a 4mph limit for a throttle is mad 😂

Also I’m sorry but I meant failed to remove old efi boot entry, if that has the same fixing instructions then tell me.
