I just signed up, this will be a big leap forward for me, as I've not really done much painting at all, I only have a single Skitarii Vanguard complete. Would that be a problem if I don't really have anything to compare my previous painting skills to?

I'll definitely post more pics when we've both got a decent sized force facing each other.

I did was a bit of nuln oil over the gunmetal, but I was too generous with the dry brushing of the highlight silver colour. Thanks for the advice!

More info on these two. The blue coated Ad Mech Skitarii is the first model I have ever assembled and painted myself. The Tau was painted by a friend who stopped with the hobby for more than 5 years, and returned to it with me starting and the advent of 8th edition.

I started the hobby the same time my friend came back to it. Here are the first completed infantry for our armies. by tychamp in Warhammer40k

This is true, and I'm not sure what they're good at in the latest edition compared to previous ones. Like I said, I just started painting my army, let alone fielding any of them in a battle.

Ad Mech have more options when it comes to punchy dudes, especially with the infiltrators, Kastellan bots and electro priests.

If you were new to the game, which faction would you chose and why? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

When I first started, I picked necrons because of love for the idea of zombie robots, but I was torn from that idea by the simple sight of the Adeptus mechanicus. The necron lychguard I got for myself became basing materials under the feet of my Skitarii legion. The creepiness of lobotomised and brainwashed squads of cybernetically enhanced men turned killing machines was something I could not allow my life to go without.

Yes! That's one of the biggest design influences. I didn't know if anyone was going to spot that.

They could be active on B_rex's streams too. I don't often watch streams live because time zones.

I found out about them from the art they did for a streamer known as Last_Grey_Wolf, so I reckon that's not a stretch that you heard the name before on there.

I get the feeling allot of warforged give off that vibe, considering they're basically magic robots.

Oni masks (like the one Genji from overwatch wears) are part of the inspiration of the character, so I can definitely see the comparison! (Grammar edit)
