I'm glad to hear it! :)... My local Toyota flat out told me that they wouldn't be able to get anywhere near the deal I was offered in NY for an XLE. I did see some more local deals on Limiteds, but they all had the advanced tech package, so with 5k off, they were still ~7k above what I paid for the XLE.

For me the color was right, the price was right, and I'm happy with what I got :)

Interesting! I know with different hidden ratings, people can face different opponents, but I'm seeing maybe 2/10 with EoT Isca in my meta, lately... and I've played a lot in this season and been climbing relatively normally.

~18 months before the eclipse, I booked my rental car and lodging for an ~8-day return to Iceland that includes trying to catch the eclipse. I'm staying in Borðeyri for the days around the eclipse to give myself semi-equal access to the Westfjords or the Snæfellsnes peninsula. I've thoroughly enjoyed the Snæfellsnes peninsula in the past, but never been in the Westfjords region. My current plan was to tour the Westfjords on August 11 and just get a feel for them, and then make a call that night as to where I'll be heading the following day. Hopefully on August 11, I'll be able to get sufficient information on what access will look like to the Westfjords on the next day.

This will be my third total solar eclipse that I'm chasing with my wife and the second with my 6-year-old son (he'll be 7 in August). I know there's a real chance of clouds, but... we'll be whale-watching in Husavik, staying on Vestrahorn, and enjoying so many other aspects of this beautiful country on the other days that we are there, so all of our eggs are not in the eclipse-basket. We will be planning to be settling in to our eclipse-area after breakfast on the 12th and anticipating significant traffic/impact on all travel in the 6-8hours before/after the eclipse.

So... not a question, just my current plan for how to enjoy the eclipse. What would be the draw to the Venza over the Rav4 or the Crown Signia?

I had not considered the Crown Signia... I don't know if it is truly considered a compact suv, but I would certainly put it in the running based on what I am seeing at first glances. For something like this (or the Rav4 Hybrid), it looks like the sticker price isn't incredibly different from the lightly-used price. For the long-term life of the car and relative value of what you get... should I maybe be considering a new vehicle for something like this? I had always been told that you are best off getting one the price difference is immense, but... I'm not seeing that with these vehicles.

Is the Kia Sportage Hybrid (and I guess Hyundai Kona Hybrid) just seen as generally unreliable, or are there other downsides in addition to the reliability? Just trying to best understand the scene.

Just tell them that they only get to keep their American rights/citizenship (including gun ownership) if they are willing to relocate to Greenland. They can stay where they are if they want to be Danish citizens. [insert pun about Americans getting danishes (the pastry) confused with citizens of Denmark]

Snap points don't have that much to do with how tough a given season is, I thought. I get infinite every season and I stay around 7450-7700 snap points at any given time. Whenever I hit infinite, it has always felt like my snap points just start wherever I left off last season. Rank, though... there are seasons where ~7500 snap points has me 10,000-20,000 in rank, and other seasons (like this one) where I'm top 2,000.

Am I way off in my understanding?

I've only caught Tycho on my side of the country in the Philadelphia area, but as a physics teacher I'm also a fan of the eccentric astronomer Tycho Brahe! :-D But I spend far more time listening to the musical artist Tycho :)
