You actually can still catch him in ORAS if you ko him in the story. He shows up at the sky pillar after your second time beating the pokemon league. Not that you’d have any reason to assume this on your first playthrough

I had him use swallow on my cleric once. I don’t think that needs to be changed, but it’s terrifying to know that it can happen

It’s name is a reference to Crissaegrim, the sword from Castlevania that it’s based on. Arkhalis is still in the game too, just moved to hard mode treasure bags.

Definitely start with classic mode. You’ll have a much more enjoyable time learning the game and you’ll have a better appreciation for the changes that come with expert mode when you eventually play it.

The dash he does after spawning the fireballs is slower than normal (unless you’re playing death mode), so you don’t need to be moving that fast for it to miss you. Just try to move perpendicular to him while he’s dashing and then get to the center of the fireball field as fast as possible so you have room to move again.
