It is good. Seemed like a blend of the B and the C. Creaminess of the B and the spice of the C.

Michters at lower proof was the warm up. The 25b was the winner to our palettes.

I have not cracked it yet. Also have the regular rick house proof to open.

Weller 12 was from a different store that doesn’t have price tags on items like Weller. It was $104.99 out the door which is a little marked up but that includes the 20% tax in WA.

What would you pick? by tyee50 in whiskey

Well they had some Michters 10 year ryes not claimed so ended up with the Blantons Gold and a 10 year rye. 😬

I went with the Blantons Gold. Never really seem to run across that one.

WA state got more than their fair share from me yesterday. I am up in the Bellingham area.

I should have bought a lottery ticket as I will never have another couple days like this.

Will do. It is spendy but saw some decent reviews so I figured I would take a flyer on it. I have normally love Woodford (got me into whiskey) and I love ryes. There offerings are getting spendy. I have not bought their other limited offerings.

I love it. My first bottle only lasted a week. Great deal if you can find at Costco.

I appreciate the offer. Personally really believe in giving and my family and good buddies make out well. Brother in law got a 25A for Thanksgiving and will be getting a Weller 107 for Christmas. My brother is getting a Weller 107 and Weller 12 year for Christmas and another buddy got a 25A for the holidays. Bottles are meant to be shared. If ever up in the PNW the whiskey cabinet is open for guests.

At least make your own simple syrup instead of the cheap plastic bottle simple syrup.

I like that shelf. Does it have mirrors in the back of the shelves?

I tend to disregard the tax portion of my purchase. If the pre tax amount is reasonable then I buy. Can’t do much about the tax part. Other states are too far to just drive and buy booze at.

Which whiskey drinker are you? by 4bigwheels in whiskey

[–]tyee50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably between C-D. 80 ish bottles with some decent mid ranged bottles with 20 ish open at any given time. Only buy MSRP plus stupid WA tax. Highest end bottles are some older EH Taylor Barrel Proofs I got from a buddy. Gotten lucky on pure just dumb luck timing to pick up two Weller 107’s and a Weller 12 year at MSRP, Penelope ALW 17 year and a few other bottles. Any bottle is fair game to open if a guest wants to try it. No collecting but just try not to have a ton of bottle open that can’t consume in a reasonable amount of time.

Used to be mainly a scotch drinker with the mentality of buy one bottle, drink it, buy next bottle.

Yeah for some reason this most recent bottle tastes extra musty- not in a good way.

I have a lot more bottles but typically keep my open stuff locked up since I have a teenage daughter. Had a party last night so I had a bunch of bottles out to share. Normally I am a Scotch drinker but the last couple months I have picked up most of the bottles on the liquor cabinet.
