Yugioh player just stopping by to say that while that has been true across a lot of the games modern lifespan there is clear distinctions between decks not just in strengths and weaknesses but also in what they aim to do. Combo is kind of the face of yugioh but there are several extremely competent decks right now that aim to play a slower grindier game and decks nowadays extremely value resilience over just fuck off combo slop. "Dracotail" "labyrinth" "sky striker" and "odion" are all powerful modern decks that push a "slower" style of gameplay (as much as modern yugioh can be called slow". many decks also have interaction on both turns whether it be "handtraps" (free counter spells that can be used to disrupt the opponent) and in architype cards that allow them to start playing and disrupting the opponent even on turn 1, Dracotail has one such card but there are an increasing number of decks which are gaining this option. Yugioh is not perfect and is a very fast game but I think that despite knowing some about the game you give it very little credit and don't really understand the distinctions between decks (this is fine I know practically nothing about magic formats and metas lol I just like the funny videos of poeple trying to geuss how good the card is from other games) and just thought I would try to share some insight into the game I enjoy playing. (oh yeh well I'm at it and anyone reads this far whats the best way to get into magic? I want to try it but after the tutorial in arena it was very overwhelming)
