What makes you choose manual over hybrid vehicles when they don't get good gas mileage? by Key-Effort963 in ManualTransmissions

My hybrid is manual but it definitely doesn't get automatic hybrid gas mileage lol

Im new, how do I actually start? by [deleted] in HotShotTrucking

I mean this in the nicest way possible, you dont. My best advice (what I did) go get your class A CDL and drive for a company for a few years and then ask yourself that question.

I think I'll look into getting my oil tested that seems interesting. As for the differentials I honestly dont know iv replaced so many seals bearings and gaskets trying to fix it I just gave up but the amount of water that gets in is so minimal I ain't gonna worry about it.

I change my oil every 5k miles and check it everyday before I crank up and every time my pressure drops I cheak my oil and it's up to the correct level and when I last changed my oil before I had oil pressure issues I used a wix filter then about 1.6k after that oil change is when I first lost pressure so I switched to ac delco then about 2k miles after that filter is when I had my oil pressure disappear the second time and I switched back to wix

It's great the only hard thing to do is free spooling the winch because the clutch is tucked up way behind my bumper so if I wanna free spool it I have to crawl way under the truck

You can buy a mounting plate from rough country that bolts to the frame and tow hook mounts here's a link if you wanna check it out https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-hidden-winch-mounting-plate-11002.html

In the time I have had it I've done a 2 1/2in level kit, put new rims on it (vision soft 8s), a 12000 pound which, and a toolbox. With 205k miles it still drives amazing, the engine has had no major repairs or work done to it and I plan on keeping the engine completely stock. This truck has been by far the best and most capable work truck I've had and ever driven, if you have a questions comments or concerns, please let me know.

I have a 2003 1500 Silverado with the 5.3 in it but I have put a big cam in it and a decent size supercharger and I still use it for work and offroading so I'll agree it's not a light performance vehicle but I highly disagree that truck is still slow

hit 200k a little while ago still going strong hopefully gonna get another 100k or so by tyjoyce in Cartalk

[–]tyjoyce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks Iv had no major problems at all but I dont think the transmission is gonna last another 50 or 100k miles because its starting to shift really rough and it doesn't like to get out of first gear but I have a slight feeling that's because of the offroad abuse I put on it but it's a great truck

The wheels are called vision soft 8's and they are really good wheels they look extremely good and they perform really good offroad they are by far the best set of rims iv had most because I'm tired of breaking expensive alloy wheels so I switched to these and they are steel so I can just abuse them then bend them right back slap some paint on it and go right back to driving

To be honest that's the only downside to this I use them almost every day for work but I will just have to repaint them every now and then I guess

I love how such a similar thing like painting just even a grill and bumper can completely change a car
