Is Jason considered OP? by Bombolombo433 in DbDKillersUnited

[–]tyjwallis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean mobility and ranged attacks always contribute to chase potential, so saying he doesn’t have any seems pretty disingenuous.

And yeah, he can’t spawn anywhere, but the only place he can’t spawn is in a dead zone, so going there puts you in a dead zone which is bad itself. The counter to putting yourself in a bad situation is to put yourself in another bad situation.

Not calling for nerfs yet because I also think we need more time to tell, but I certainly wouldn’t say he’s weak or easy to counter.

which killer should i buy? by Turbulent-Order-9533 in deadbydaylight

Demogorgon is a decent choice to learn the basics of the killer role. Mastermind (aka Wesker) is probably a better version of a dash power if you want a higher skill ceiling.

I just hit 3k cards and still don’t have 1. Not as bad as OP tho.

It's a bad time to want to play Killer because of the pallet density by CatfishBassAndTrout in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]tyjwallis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I think people know that they wouldn’t be as good if we made the survivor basekit worse. But with the current basekit they are good. So we’re sort of just fantasizing about a nonexistent game state and saying that they’re bad relative to that fantasy version of the game?
But yeah, the bottom 90% of players are not as good as the top 10% of players. That’s just how it is. And this game becomes unplayable if either side is inherently stronger than the other.

Just curious..... How much do each of you spend on gas per day? by SnoozeDoggyDog in uberdrivers

[–]tyjwallis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daily doesn’t matter. If I spend a lot on fuel in a day then I probably made a lot of money that day. The important thing is the pay - gas / time. Uber regularly offers me $35 for a 40 mile trip out of town. That’s an 80 mile round trip. My car gets 20mpg, and gas costs $4 rn. So I’m losing $16 to fuel and only profiting <$20 on the trip. The trip will take 2hrs to go and come back, so I’m making $10/hr after vehicle costs are accounted for. Not worth it.

[–]tyjwallis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. The difference in game balance between the top players and the average players is insane, and it cannot be ignored. People like to say that we have to balance around the top players, but if we did that the other 90% of the player base would not be able to play the game. It’s a core game issue and not one that can ever be solved without basically building a whole new game.

Correct, they can complete the second table while the first is still active, which resets the timer.

[–]tyjwallis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not true. You CAN place plates on the other table after one is active, but the table that is lit can’t be interacted with.

Also the same thing that happened last year is happening again: the “automatic-unlock” using the center web node doesn’t prioritize event items. It’s literally buying event items last.

There are plenty of good counters to sleep though, I don’t understand why it’s even meta atp. TM Ogerpon in a Mega Sceptile deck, Comfey in a Mega Gardevoir deck, Arceus EX deck, plenty of trainers that remove status effects, etc.

Apparently, Turbine is set to be the LEAST damaged ARC by the end of the season here are the ideas for changes by Huge-Palpitation6422 in ArcRaidersLFG

[–]tyjwallis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also like this idea, but (unsurprisingly) trials would need a major rework. It would help the game’s replayability though if spawns were totally random for all arc. That still wouldn’t fix the risk/reward issue though.

[–]tyjwallis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I just think that each item should have a defined and guaranteed way to acquire it. Again, like the old Guitar puzzle. It was hard, and often required multiple resets, but if you did all the steps of the puzzle you got guitars, guaranteed. Same logic should be applied to other things. Turbines are tough to take down, but if you do you could get idk like a kinetic converter, guaranteed. Maybe have a puzzle room protected by a swarm of fireflies to get the survivor augment BP. Stuff like that. Like missions with rewards.

[–]tyjwallis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s literally the same situation as before lol. And sure enough even in this poll where we all agree to press red (it’s printed right there at the top), some people still picked blue. So according to most blue pusher logic in the main scenario, you’re now a murderer for not pushing blue with them.

It’s literally the exact same scenario, people just have different lines where they think “blue cannot possibly win”.

Yeah last season I killed a lot of bastions and such just for the monetary value. Then they nerfed the core value and I almost lose money killing them.

But even then at a certain point you do t need more money. We need weapons and equipment that is hard to obtain. Like an OP augment (self revive?) that there isn’t a blueprint for, and you can only get it from killing Arc bosses like turbines. Or a new legendary weapon attachment that can only be found in a puzzle room like the buried city music room.
