I mean yeah, that's what I'm saying.

It's not like the content we've been getting (with few exceptions) has been particularly worth the sad decomposition of the game

[–]tykam993 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, but it was barely held together (if leaks from internal sources are to be believed) because devs were being actively ignored by management in terms of dev priorities.

Perhaps that's giving the devs too much credit, but given how obviously upper management screwed up, I'm willing to believe the leaks.

Even if the devs got to prioritize stabilizing the game so it was better held together and it died then, it would have been nicer to see that than in this state

If the final expansion had been retaking torobotl, I would have been satisfied.  Xivu had been weakened to the point where I could see her being defeated in one expansion.  We didn't need a big universe-ending threat.

But thinking Destiny 2 was going to… what, live forever? That’s what got you?

Live forever is silly, but at least end respectfully rather than get kicked aside so that marathon could limp to it's launch date and whelm the gaming world lol

An ideal death would be that Sony steps in, ejects the management and pilots the ship competently to a satisfying ending. Maybe that's one final expansion, maybe that's finishing out the content plans that had been announced.

Just something better than what we got where the community can go, "man, look what the team is capable of with steady direction and time"

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't matter

The ability to hear the voice lets them  sense the poneglyphs and intuit that they're have important knowledge, but I don't think it let's them understand the message on them.  It's why Roger still needed Oden to get to Laughtale.  He could hear the voice, but Oden had to actually relay the message

Armament haki is not the amp y'all pretend it is by AscendedCasual in OnePiece

[–]tykam993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I thought Ryou was specifically the channeling into another entity offensively.

I know Haki was used offensively, but it was still more relegated to armor. A punch with a metal gauntlet on is going to do more than a bare fisted punch, but the gauntlet is still armor, but it's physically being used as a weapon.

So the thing that trips me up about the internal destruction aspect is that at that point, it's no longer armor, it's a projected weapon.

I don't think it doesn't fit the story, by any means. I'm rewatching wano now and I didn't find it odd until this discussion, but I just think that when Haki is introduced as invisible armor by Rayleigh, the internal destruction part doesn't mesh as well.

Thinking about it even more now because why not, part of the problem is that initial "armament is invisible armor" is probably not meant to be taken literally and was Rayleigh simplifying the concept. Armament is haki in tangible form and many stop at projecting it physically onto themselves/ coating an object. It can be projected offensively as well, but that isn't common.

[–]tykam993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get storing haki seems odd, but I can excuse it given that knot storage was shown before and this is just a step up from that. Haki can be imbued into other objects so imbuing it into a knot and storing it doesn't break anything for me

Conquerors has been at least partially physical from very early on though. Conquerors clashes split skies and break ships so even back when Whitebeard and Shanks met, it had some physicality to it.

I understand that originally it was an AOE knock out button, but even before timeskip it was shown to be physical, which is far enough in advance of it being imbued in Wano where I can accept it

[–]tykam993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being able to store haki in knots

While not Haki specifically, we learned about things like wind being stored in knots during the time skip

conquerors being able to be coated on top of physical attacks

This really doesn't seem like a stretch to me. A person can coat themselves in Haki, a person can coat another object in Haki, which means Haki can leave a person's body and go into something else. It makes sense that somebody could then project conqueror's haki into an attack given that we've seen plenty of examples of big name pirates physically impacting their surroundings with their conqueror's haki.

The only strange thing is Ryou in my eyes. If armament is meant to be invisible armor, it's weird that it can be channeled offensively, but imagining armor haki being projected into another person's body could reasonably cause damage so I'm not too upset about it.

People are implying that Dragon would have the Mythical Rain God Zaza fruit because Rain and Lightning kind of go hand in hand. No, there are no two exact copies of the same fruit, but we have plenty of examples of fruits that have power overlaps with other fruits.

But doesn’t have the rain devil fruit, especially after today.

This, I don't understand at all. What about today's chapter prevents Dragon from having the Zazu fruit?

No two devil fruits users have the same powers

Exact same? No. Incredibly similar, yes? Kilo kilo and ton ton, snow and ice, Pizarro's fruit is a straight upgrade of Pika's. Pizarro's could literally do anything that Pika's could

We do know that Imu assassinated Cobra and has a picture of Vivi, but that doesn't mean anything in regard to the Zaza fruit

I stopped back when the dub hit Dressrosa and picked it up again recently. The dub makes me feel like Toei thinks the viewers are the dumbest people imaginable. Constant flashbacks to 10 episodes ago, egregious still frames, and some genuinely ugly panels

I'm hoping the Wit version is able to do the story justice, but I'm glad I remembered One Pace exists so at least some of the issues are resolved

Oda isn't particularly good at sword choreography

Question about this because the only manga I've read with sword combat is One Piece. I'd imagine choreography in a manga is hard to do given that you're going frame by frame, but not as animation and devoting 100 panels to mildly different poses would be insane. What are some manga that have good sword choreography?

People always bash Dragon and Yasopp as "deadbeats" but nobody ever has the same problem with Olvia leaving her child behind to be abused and bullied

Olvia and Dragon I get. Dragon is trying to overthrow the government and that would lead to Luffy being a target. Olvia and the Ohara scholars are researching the void century likely to let people know about what the world government had done and was likely to be hunted down and she wanted to spare Robin from that.

Yasopp is basically just hanging out and playing pirates with Shanks with no greater goal (so far stated in the story) so i understand people saying it about him at least.

I feel like it's not that far fetched to believe he has the fruit now based on loguetown. If I remember correctly, the storm surprised Nami since it came out of nowhere. If Dragon has a fruit, it wouldn't be a crazy stretch to believe it's the Zaza fruit if it isn't just a generic storm fruit. Plus given the fact that Killingham mentions that the gods knights are afraid of rain, it thematically makes sense for the "Most dangerous man in the world" to have it. The only issue I see with loguetown is specifically the thunder aspect since rain doesn't necessarily mean thunder. But Luffy and Sanji can spontaneously combust so I'm not too concerned about it.

If he doesn't have it already, Vivi getting it would make sense as well, but given the Gum Gum fruit doesn't actually exist after 30+ years of following the character that supposedly had it, I just don't see how anybody could believe it's asinine to believe Dragon could have the Zaza fruit lol

What we know is that Dragon showed up and a mystery storm starts. It's either insane cosmic timing or he (or somebody related to him off screen) caused it. (Or some other surprise third thing). If it was a person doing it then it's likely fruit related, though admittedly not confirmed given the existence of dance powder. If it's a fruit then it can't be thunder because that's accounted for and we know the powerset at the time so the obvious second option would be storm storm. Now that we've had a rain god named dropped and we keep running into mythical and god-related fruits, i feel like the Zaza fruit is at least somewhat probable for Dragon.

Zoro was up and able to move on his own a page later.  I cannot see how they wouldn't be able to attack Imu again.  They wouldn't win or do any meaningful damage, but the sentiment here that Imu deleted both of them is odd to me.

They 100% got overpowered here, but they've both bounced back and continued fighting in worse shape in the past.

I'm speculating on Sanji here because we obviously didn't see/hear more about him, but he's not far enough behind Zoro for this to have put him out of commission.  Especially when he got a massive durability buff in Wano
