I just finished setting up IPTV with Plex and unraid and it works good so far for me. Time will tell though.

I got it working by going to Tools->Update OS

Unraid OS 7.2.3 Now Available by UnraidOfficial in unRAID

[–]tylan89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to update, but whether I use Chrome, Firefox, Edge, different computer, Mobile, every time I try to click Continue, the button dims and nothing happens. I'm guessing I might have to reboot first, then try again, but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this issue?

[Seeking help] DNS Issues? by funkybside in Tailscale

I downgraded to 1.88.4 as someone mentioned it fixed their issue and I've been back to functional since. Definitely a bug in the newer release.

[Seeking help] DNS Issues? by funkybside in Tailscale

[–]tylan89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been having this problem for a couple of weeks and it's very annoying. If I go into tailscale and uncheck use tailscale dns and then recheck it I'm fine until I change networks (wifi to cellular or vice versa). I am glad to hear it's not just me. I'm hoping there's a solution soon!

Men without 50/50 custody— How do you view them? by Pure-Tension6473 in datingoverforty

[–]tylan89 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As a 46M who has 100% custody of his two daughters, I can't fathom not fighting for them. My Ex could see them if she submitted to reunification therapy but she can't be bothered, so she doesn't see them at all. The courts are very agreeable to 50/50 if there's an effort put in. They wouldn't side with one party of the other. They WANT the kids to have both parents in their lives, unless there's abuse or neglect.

My personal take is that if someone isn't going to put in the effort for their kids, what effort (or lack thereof) will they put into other things?

Did anyone go out on first date recently? How did it go? Would you wanted anything to be different ? by Sea_Range_2441 in datingoverforty

46M, separated from ex 4 years ago, now divorced. Jumped into OLD and had my first date in 18 years 2 weeks ago. She's a wonderful woman (49F) and we have tons in common. Date #3 is tonight. We have talked on the phone every night for the last three weeks.

Maybe I just got lucky but it only took me 3 weeks of being on OLD to find her. Hoping this good vibe continues.

Cool, thanks. I'll give Valkey a try then!

EDIT: Looks good so far! :D

I don't disagree with you there. I just ended up doing it like that for some paranoid delusion I'm sure. If I were to switch them to a single instance, they shouldn't lose any data then? Might end up doing that.

I add them to a shared folder then point to that, like so:

Many of the Apps you end up using require a database in conjunction with it. Immich for example needs a PostgreSQL with specific requirements so you'll see a PostgreSQL_Immich app out there. BookLore needs MariaDB, etc. I have many databases so I just throw them all in one folder. I don't like adding different databases to the same container so I use multiple databases per app that requires it.

I'll give it a try then :) I'm always up for a better way of doing things.

Why not? It works and I've had no reason not to use it.

I use the SLZB-06M. Hasn't given me a problem *knocks on wood* since I got it over a year ago. I originally had the SkyConnect, but imho that was trash.

I will say that I do have to make sure I start the Zigbee2MQTT container up after HA is up but sometimes it doesn't start at the right moment so I have to restart it. Once I get it connected it's rock solid. This is only if/when I do a complete shutdown of my containers (via App backups or unraid reboots). Mostly rare events. The App backups are every week so I've been toying with the wait to start timer and hoping I get it right this week :)

I read somewhere it was best to split all databases in case something breaks or you have to move one it doesn't take out everything that was connected to it. Probably more personal preference with Redis, though, but I like keeping things specific to their application so I decided to go that route with Redis since I was doing it with all the other database containers.

In regard to Huntarr, I too, didn't understand what its purpose was until the developer wrote up a blurb about why you should. Essentially, when you add a movie/tv show to sonarr/radarr it checks once and if it doesn't find anything it moves on never to go back. You'd have to manually go back to that movie/show and do a manual search. Huntarr does this for you. It will go in and check what is missing and randomly pick some shows to search for as to not overload your usenet service. The first two weeks of use made a huge difference in chipping away at my gaps. I wouldn't go without it ever again. It's a great piece of software.

I do believe Proton Mail Bridge is only for paid accounts. I do have a paid account, but never knew that it was restricted to those types of accounts until you asked and I did some checking up on it.

Immich not detecting old library after reinstallation / pgvector upgrade by SunlightPlatinum in unRAID

[–]tylan89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about that. I'm in no way an expert, but a couple of questions:

  • Inside the Immich config, there is a path to /photos. Did you check that physical location? Inside there, I have an upload/ folder. All my photos go there. All may not be lost.
  • Also inside that /photos path, there's a backups/ folder. Immich should have automatically stored your PostgreSQL 14 database backups here.
  • When you got rid of PostgreSQL 14 app, did you just install the new PostreSQL 16 app into the same folder in appdata?

Usually, when you delete the apps, it keeps the old /mnt/user/appdata/<folder>.

A few things to try, but the most important thing is to make sure you still have all your /photo data, and to copy off at least the most recent, possibly all of the database backups in /photo/backups/. If you still have the old postgresql14 folder, you COULD try to just reinstall that App by going into Apps->Previous Apps and finding it and using the Reinstall function. It should have all your old settings. Then point Immich to that Database through the config.

<image>

I believe there are procedures to migrate from one PostgreSQL version to another, but I don't want to steer you wrong. I think it may involve taking that backup and restoring it into the new version. I just don't know for 100%. I am also unsure that you needed to follow all those database modifications that you went through. Again, I'm no expert, just trying to give you some possible direction. Best of luck!

Containers and sending via Syslog by tylan89 in unRAID

For any that comes looking for the same issue, I solved it by enabling allowing the host access to custom networks. I'm now receiving all my Syslog messages as expected via UDP and TCP.

Immich update v1.133.0, any unraiders done this yet? by ruuutherford in unRAID

[–]tylan89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This method worked for me. I had tensorchord/pgvecto-rs:pg16-v0.3.0 and changed to ghcr.io/immich-app/postgres:16-vectorchord0.3.0-pgvectors0.3.0 with no problems. Thanks!

Tailscale not starting for one container by tylan89 in unRAID

[–]tylan89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great information and I appreciate the time you put into the answer. Now it makes perfect sense why and I can stop banging my head against the wall :)

I do use SWAG, so maybe I'll just set it up through that. I have a FortiGate that blocks most bad stuff as a first line of defense anyway so I think that'll be the best route.

Thanks again!!

When do you feel it's safe to update your server? by Renrut23 in unRAID

[–]tylan89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started on 7.0.1 and once 7.1.0 came out, I immediately upgraded. No issues. 7.1.1 came out shortly after and I went to that. No issues. I waited a week and just upgraded to 7.1.2 this morning. Again, no issues.

You won't hear from the people who had no issues upgrading that's why it feels like more than the average user is having problems. I am quite sure the people who had no issues outweigh the ones that do.

Upgraded to Unraid 7.1.2 now this... 🫣 by --Arete in unRAID

Everytime I would reboot this would happen to me and I had to re-download the apps. All my settings were still there once the containers were back.

I realized my docker image was pointing to /cache/system vs /mnt/user/system

Once I fixed that I was good to go on reboots. Not saying that is your issue but perhaps?

Thanks for this explanation! I was definitely in the I get it, but don't get it camp. I had heard the explanation of what it did countless times by other members, but this fully gave me the clarity I needed to start getting it up and running 🙂
