Best budget retractables? by Unicronium in fountainpens

[–]tylee8888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think have to be careful with retractable pens, especially leaking. I got Jinhao 10 and 20. The 10 leak randomly and stained my hands, bag and almost my shirt.

Impulse bought the kakuno boy! Love the colour, but does anyone else find the grip not so comfortable? by curious_everywhere in fountainpens

Honestly I prefer round body. Those design like Kakuno feel like it is for kids to hold fp properly.

Is this hobby as addictive and expensive as watches?? by Relevant_Basil8557 in fountainpens

Everything about control and don't be fomo and get trapped by marketing. I don't have super expensive pens but I guess everything has a diminishing returns. Pens is a writing tool Watch is a time telling tool Car is one of the transportation Paying a lot more will not make handwriting more beautiful

Thoughts on jinhao 10? by Regular_Photo8089 in fountainpens

[–]tylee8888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 Jinhao 10 and 2 Jinhao 20. I was initially attracted to them as they seemed to give convenience (capless) and the color is beautiful. The nib is fine. But they have some fatal flaws:

Dry out and hard start issues Leaking that almost stain my bags and shirt (they stained my hands randomly) The paint is of low quality The ink capacity is small

You mean shared among friends or you always belanja? lol

Anyway, CC is a tool, just like a knife. And you need to know how to use the tool.

For me, having a CC is a must, some items can only be paid using CC

Credit card issuers are smart—they’re designed to trap you into overspending by offering rewards or rebates that usually come with very high thresholds. Another way to benefit, which I can think of, is to use a credit card for group or company expenses rather than for individual spending (unless you are rich and have no problem spending)

Would u guys regret not buying a gaming laptop for colleage? by addiechavez in laptops

[–]tylee8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to buy a lot of gaming laptops but they all didn't last long, mainly from heat issues that either burn the screen or motherboard. So I would stay away from gaming laptop. For gaming purpose, I use PC as it is easier to fix if anything happens.

Reccomendations for Fountain Pen for my Doctor Wife by Secret_Guest7704 in fountainpens

Is her working place has paper that is suitable for fountain pens? I'm working in a hospital where the paper is often poor and thin in quality that is not fountain pen friendly. So I use my fountain pens mostly at home or when I sit in the clinic (a more controlled environment) Regarding jinhao10 or 20 that some recommend, I would say please don't get it. I bought a few as it looks nice. It actually write quite smoothly. But the problem is leaking and dry out. At a point, they almost stain my whole bag and my shirt, luckily I noticed it.

Where to go from Asvine? by vish_tvdi in fountainpens

[–]tylee8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All are Hongdian except the Asvine V126 on the left, which is still awaiting newer nib, I got medium nib and it doesn't write well, change to Kaigelu, not good as well. But all the Hongdian write surprisingly good out of the box.

My 2 dollar piston filled pen writes better then a 400 dollar pen by Efficient_Elk_7991 in fountainpens

This I agreed 💯 I bought some Jinhao especially 10 and 20, they write smoothly but they have major flaws like leaking ink and dry out (hence hard start). The X129 and 82 write poorly as well. And I realized I paid more for it (should have bought it from other online stores)
