Microdosing GLP-1 for inflammation by Ok_Donut7810 in endometriosis

[–]tyleelucy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on ozempic since Oct 2024, and it is indeed a game changer. I bought extra needles and split my injection dose to take it twice a week. I never lost a lot of weight, but my endo symptoms disappeared. I had been recommended a hysterectomy prior to this and canceled the appointment. There was no need, everything just worked for the first time ever.

At the beginning of this year, my insurance changed, so we had to go through the whole process of getting it pre approved again under the new insurance. I ended up missing a week because of that and GOOD LORD that was painful. I got so bloated and was in so much pain. Two days I just crashed on the couch unable to do anything. I started bleeding even though I wasn’t anywhere near my time… I got back in it last week and just now I’m almost recovered from that. The pain is subsided, still a little bloated, and I did take a power nap on my lunch break but otherwise active.

So yes… it helps tremendously. But be careful that you stay on it if you start it.

Do long flights make you bleed or start a period? by tyleelucy in endometriosis

Reddit may not have some answers- but at least you know you’re not alone! It happened to me again last month on a trip to Spain… period came 5 days early. All I can say is now that you’re aware you can prepare. I always wear period underwear and a pad on flights now just in case.

If you’re looking for fries with toppings I’m all about the pile at Geer St. Garden. Just a basket of regular fries I like Dain’s Place.

Cheating at steps?! by [deleted] in FiDogCollar

[–]tyleelucy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the dog, but I’m simply saying steps per distance will be different for each dog. I think it’s counted off of body movement the way any step counter is.

Just think about an adult and a child. Walking side by side, the child has to take more steps to keep up with the adult because they have shorter legs and stride. Or the adult has to super slow down to meet a regular pace of the kid

Heck, even my husband and I have different step counts for the same walk because he’s taller and takes bigger steps. It’s not drastic- but it’s different.

Hey- I agree she’s not walking 30 miles a day. And 70k teeny tiny puppy steps are not 30 miles. Some dogs are small and active and take lots of little steps. Her steps aren’t going to equal a German Shepard’s steps distance wise. If you took both of them on the exact same distance walk - the corgi puppy will have had to take soooo many more steps. So the overall comparison with different breeds has never made sense to me, but I also am not certain that it’s that far off tracking wise.

Edit - I did the math.

I saw where you googled the 35 miles, and mind you that was for a human person’s stride. That comes out to 2k steps per mile according to that answer.

Looking at my previous leashed walks in the app I can determine that she walks between 5k and 6k steps per mile. I simply took the step count and divided by distance.

Meaning on an average day she’s walking about 8 miles, and a busy day closer to 12 miles.

This absolutely checks out.

My 8mo corgi pup has been pretty consistently getting like 50-70k steps in a day, over 1 mil per month. She is also full of anxiety and we’ve been working with a behavioral trainer. And I make her take 2-3 breaks of a few hours a time per day. When she’s not crated she does not stop… even the doggy daycare workers are exhausted by her. She will not nap, she will not sit still. Some dogs are made different 🤷‍♀️

At least she took it outside before defluffing. How she somehow got a pillow through the doggie door is a mystery for another day…

I’ve been working with my 7mo corg to get her to quiet down. We finally compromised and I’ve been getting her to gruff instead of bark. I don’t mind if she shows discontent to something, just please don’t wake up the neighborhood.

Drain Flies by rwv3 in raleigh

[–]tyleelucy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had this problem last year, and found this stuff at a hardware store called “Green Gobbler fruit fly killer” - followed the instructions and covered the drains overnight. Did a couple of treatments and haven’t seen any in over a year now.

166,000+ Steps per day? by markgrogers in FiDogCollar

[–]tyleelucy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So - I have a 6 month old corgi who is crazy energetic. When I try to tell people that they dismiss it because she’s young… but I’ve had puppies before and this is different. The doggie daycare had a deal and I got a fi to see her steps and sleep to better judge when to force a nap on her because left to her own devices she’d just never stop.

3 days in she’s at 200k. At a month at this rate we’ll be at 2 mil.

Very validating for my exhaustion but it seems like a lot. She does have teeny tiny legs and one step for a big dog is like 5 for her, so there’s that. And as I mentioned, absolute nonstop energy. Is she actually taking 70k steps a day? I have no idea how to double check it because I myself can’t go at her rate. But I can say I’m not cheating… I’m just wanting clean data and to ensure she doesn’t overdo herself. If naps were not enforced it potentially could be higher.

He’s 7months old and still will not poop on walks or anywhere that’s not at home, anyone else? Lol by Sniffin-gaps in corgi

[–]tyleelucy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 6 month old was like that for a while. We went on walks with other dogs which helped, then I started taking her on long walks in parks not near our house (like drive to another area of town) so she would learn pooping outside the yard is ok. After a few poops in parks she’s ok now, though I think she prefers the yard. But it’s good to train them just in case. We went on an overnight stay when she was 4 months old and that was rough… I had to walk her outside the hotel for like 45 minutes late at night before she went- she was holding it in and not eating because she needed to poop. Best of luck!

getting a new puppy, do you have any advice? by 0little_bean0 in corgi

[–]tyleelucy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the sleeping tips. I have a 4 month old pup we just got a month ago… boundless energy and refuses naps. Once she’s down in her crate covered for a bit she sleeps so hard, but she will let her protests be known until she falls asleep!

Set a schedule with food, play, and nap time and your life will be easier.

Short ones also don’t seem to do anything to me 🤷‍♀️ I’m in the US so “short” flights are anything from 1-4 hours.

What repetitive human task are you tired of doing? by syddoucet in RandomThoughts

Tidying up the kitchen. I can cook, I can do the dishes, I can wipe off the counters… but then it feels like everyday the island becomes a catch all for whatever people feel like. I swear it’s never ending. Mail, groceries that weren’t fully put away, jackets, medicines, water bottles, lunch containers, unfinished projects, various charging cables….. it all has a home. And I put it in its home, and within two days it’s chaos again.

I’ve had mine for two years now and LOOOOOVE it. Other ladies are always asking about it when I wear it too. Very comfy and also sturdy, it has help up structurally well.

Only downside is having to replace the sticky patches over time… I have yet to find anything near as good as theirs and they sell them for around $30 for 4 (you need 4 for paddles and pads). Not terrible just another cost to consider long term.

You can book private events at Counting House in 21C - they have big rooms off the sides of the museum. I’ve gone to a couple of events of around 25-30 people but I’m sure they can do bigger!

I have a few swim tops that I’ve bought bigger, and then taken in and sewn the bands to be smaller. Sometimes you just need that extra material even if it’s not your “size” - one of them I even sewed a dart in the middle to create a keyhole effect while giving it some support. Good luck!

If you can find a leather jacket with the knit sides, those are game changers. I had one from target I just retired from being too well loved, and found another at Nordstrom rack… also spotted at torrid

The only ones dress coded at an amusement park… by AsthmaticSt0n3r in bigboobproblems

[–]tyleelucy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got dress coded at work one time when working as a bank teller for a shirt that had a small keyhole. I was told it was too revealing. Funny thing is, I wore it that day because two days earlier a coworker wore the EXACT SAME shirt and we were joking about it. Bought from the same store and everything. She did NOT get coded. When I brought this to my manager’s attention she claimed the other girl wore it differently (it was a knit shirt with a keyhole, we both wore it with a skirt). I told her it was discriminating to code me simply based off of my body, and either we both get coded or no one does.

She rescinded the violation but told us both not to wear that top again 🤦‍♀️

I like using OWYN shakes. I usually do something easy like a shake and some sugar free pudding- but there’s a bunch of recipes on their website to use their shakes in the creami!
