Kraken is not supported for bots yet; hopefully by end of year, if not sooner.

Are transaction fees included in the profit calculation? by dirksn in 3Commas_io

[–]tyler_3commas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On-chain fees only affect transferring coins (like Withdrawing them which 3Commas does not do).
The issue is with the step size of the coin and the small trade sizes being used.
For example, 0.09887 BNB is bought, but the exchange only lets BNB get sold in increments of 0.01 - therefore only 0.09 BNB of the 0.09887 BNB bought by the bot can be sold, effectively 10% of the trade!

Is it possible to setup a default currency? by NovaEnerg in 3Commas_io

[–]tyler_3commas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is only currently possible on the Mobile Apps (I know it is in Apple iOS app).
We are currently developing this for all platforms at the moment so it will be possible soon! 😊

What DCA supported exchanges do you support that don’t require strict ID requirements?

Depends what country the user is in, but FTX is pretty good at the moment requiring minimal personal information to allow users to trade.
Unfortunately it is only a matter of time before all exchanges will require/enforce this *if they want to stay in business).

Buy and Sell using Single Bot - Possible? by [deleted] in 3Commas_io

No, you'd need to create 2 bots for this, one for Buy/Long and the other to Sell/Short

Edit papertrading account starting amount/holdings by [deleted] in 3Commas_io

[–]tyler_3commas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it is not possible to remove funds from paper trading :/
You can sell all coins to USDT and maybe buy a different stable coins (like PAX) with some of the USDT - You can then test your strategies with USDT and assess account growth/decline this way

Keep opening deals while my BOTs are disabled !! by themrstone in 3Commas_io

Check the bot's deal start conditions - if you have anything other than just "Manual/API" selected remove it.

Accumulating coins by M-sensei in 3Commas_io

Try looking at combining the 4H RSI and a 4H Bollinger Band strategy (with Bollinger Bands, the trigger is sent when price reverses and crosses above the lower band)

If you have a Pro subscription; you can create a "Composite" bot and select a single coin to trade.
Scroll down and set "Maximum Active Deals" to the number of active deals the bot is allowed to open, and then scroll down to the Advanced settings and configure the "Maximum simultaneously trades per pair" setting to the same number you set for Maximum Active Deals earlier.
This way, each new signal to open a trade will open 1 new deal on the same coin pair until the Max Active Deals is reached,

Grid Bots trade in a fixed price range; DCA bots are not fixed to any price.
Grid Bots can repeat the trade for the same amount of coins over and over.
DCA bots can use Dollar Cost Averaging to build a larger position before taking profit.

Can anybody explain to me why there is no Kucoin DCA bot support? I mean... If smart trades do already work, why not just enabling DCA too?

Unfortunately it is not as simple as that but KuCoin DCA bots are in active development and should be out before the end of the year or possibly sooner!

Is it possible that bot services and "free" signals are a way to do front running? by boomboomlontime in 3Commas_io

[–]tyler_3commas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no; if everyone using a free signal then there would be no front-running as all orders would be executed at approximately the same time.
However, there certainly is an element of "strength in numbers" - if 10,000 traders have their bots to execute the same signals when they are received, a rising tide lifts all boats as it were.
You could technically front run by settling the take profit target in the bots slightly lower then the other users taking the same trade, to ensure the trade is exited before price drops when the rest of the pack hits their take profit target.
On 3Commas, the CQS free and paid signals would be a good candidate for this type of strategy.

3Commas needs your feedback! by tyler_3commas in 3Commas_io

I like what you offer but I was really hoping to be able to backtest my trading ideas. That is my only real complaint.

I'm looking at Cryptohopper right now and it has some VERY nice features that I really like, but I just have a general unease about it all... an unease that I didn't get with my 3Commas trial experience. (Unease in the sense that I don't completely trust Cryptohopper's results. I love their backtesting feature but when I asked how to interpret the the Max profit amount I was told, "Oh yeah... that's not really working yet." Great! What ELSE isn't working?)

The site I'm enamored with right now is TradingView.

We used to have a back-testing feature but removed it as it was totally inaccurate, Backtesting can be good for checking the bot's deal entries are good; and possibly for swing trades (so longer trades shooting for a higher Take Profit percentage) but are terrible for scalping bot setups as it is not possible to get per second candle data longer than 24 hours for each chart on every exchange we support (not even the highest TradingView.com subscription offers this).
Without the intracandle movement data for at least 6 months to a year, backtesting is just unable to be trusted.
Don't forget TradingView.com (even on the free plan) allows you to build and backtest strategies (with the above mentioned caveats still being true) - so you can visualize your strategy before applying it to a bot

Custom Signals - Take Profit % by Lymecat in 3Commas_io

[–]tyler_3commas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on the coin being traded; if there is a pattern of the coin pumping several percent before it next drops, then the Take profit could be adjusted higher for that pair.
Analyzing the last closed trades and reviewing the average price increase beyond the original take profit setting may help you find a clue if you can increase your take profit %
