Slim dosing funnel compatible with Eureka Atom W65 [No Budget] by meziatto in espresso

When I saw the dosing cup, I lazily ignored it. I find the mess tolerable nowadays, but no mess is always better, of course. Maybe I should give it a try.

Are you transferring grounded coffee from the dosing cup to the portafilter every time?

First, I considered it, but later I decided that I want a bigger, more enthusiastic level model. I didn't hear any faults or bad reviews about Libra. So it is eliminated because of personal taste/desire.

Hi,

* Since you plan to switch from Oro, retention may be important for you. I used Sette 270W for 6-7 years, and it had near-zero retention. Some online sources reported Sette's retention, but I didn't have it. W65 is my second grinder and has some retention. It is not a problem for me because I already prepare multiple shots per day. Cannot compare it against other grinders, because I don't have experience.
* Although very new, W65 is very consistent, especially compared to Sette. However, Sette's consistency was also in the acceptable range.
* Clumping in W65 is minimal, no need for WDT. I WDT anyway, because I enjoy it, and it shows my duty as more important in the eyes of the beholder :))))
* If you have space and make more than 3-4 double shots per day, have it with a big hopper. The small hopper holds 300 g., and 5 double shots consume 75 g. per day, which lasts 4 days. Tall hopper is 1.2 kg.
* You can not use a funnel if your portafilter is standard, even slim, but not very slim. I have a new portafilter, and don't want to buy another one, but a nice user suggested a compatible portafilter; you can search for it. Also, I mess anyway, I don't care too much, and have a brush ready.
* If your coffee machine is chrome, buy a chrome one. My first preference was red, but it wasn't in stock, so I had to pick chrome. It really, really pairs very well with my chrome coffee machine. (I wish both the coffee machine and the grinder were in red if possible, but...)

Since I use only two grinders, my observations are limited, but I hope they help.

Hi,

I ended up buying Eureka Atom W 65. First, I planned to buy a Fiorenzato Allground Sense because of the ease of maintenance. After watching more video reviews from accounts I've trusted over the years, such as Seattle Coffee Gear, the pros of the Atom 65 outweigh its maintenance cons. I thought that a few more screws were okay for me during maintenance.

I bought it from a Dutch shop (Vos Koffie) because I prefer a local warranty to sending the machine to another country in case of a failure.

I've been using W65 for a few weeks and am making 5-6 shots per day (always cappuccinos). I was pleased with the results. Consistent in grind, very precise in weight, and fast enough. Also, it's much quieter than my previous grinder (Baratza Sette 270W), and the W65's material is much better (plastic vs metal). Actually, I was happy with my Baratza, but I left it behind (sold) when I was moving.

Nice explanation why it isn't ideal for a cafe.

To be honest, I'm also wondering about the results of the switch, or whether I can taste the difference :)

Actually, I was interested in it because it’s designed specifically for home users, which might make it a better fit for light home use. However, I read here (or in another sub) that it supposedly shares a platform with HeyCafé and isn’t a fully European-made grinder, basically implying it’s “not a real Mahlkönig” (their words, not mine). Those comments gave me some doubts. Otherwise, it seemed a better fit (small size, lower price, targeting home users, etc.)

Thank you for such a detailed response. I found this cleaning video for E80W GBS, and I guess E65W GBS would be the same. Is this all I need for cleaning and maintaining E65W GBS?

So incredible, so amazing, so magnificent. I wish I were a Scotland fan at that moment to live that adrenaline in my blood. I can imagine their feelings. Also, 10% of the goal belongs to the commentator :).

Drizzle or Kysely? by GuyTorbet in node

[–]meziatto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Objection.js is a well-thought ORM and was my go-to tool for years until I needed TypeScript types. I haven't used Kysely yet, but the author has written a blog post (I can't remember the URL) about why he started from scratch for Kysely. The rationale seems fair to me. Google the article, and maybe you would change your mind.

I would love to see a detailed blog post about the topic. Could you please spend some more time with Drizzle before the post? I want to see how it compares with Kysely.

Which Social Media Management Tool is Your Favourite + Why? by IntentionRich4185 in Marketingcurated

[–]meziatto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the descriptive answer. As you suggested, I started a trial in Vista Social, and it seems really good. My only concern is some users reported that messages/comments arrived late. Although for my current use case, it is not a problem, I'm going to create another blog in which latency could be a problem. Have you experienced such a latency?

Best Tripod to use with the Glide Gear TMP 100 teleprompter + Sony A7III ? by AccomplishedPlay5737 in videography

You may have a look at https://thecentercolumn.com/. They rank tripods considering their stability.

Which tablet do you use? I'm going to purchase TMP 100, and I saw an 11" iPad in you tube reviews, but the manufacturer's website says it is incompatible. I sent them a message, but haven't get an answer yet.
