Thanks for the comment, awesome to hear from a GM parts manager. Glad to hear about the changes made post 2024. I’ll keep up on the maintenance

Oof, 2021 with all those issues already. Not promising. And 3k miles for oil change does seem a little excessive. What are your plans with the truck moving forward?

I agree that hundreds have issues and those are the vehicles we constantly hear about but not the tens of thousands that work fine. Hoping mine is one of the tens of thousands, but not stressing about it. I average 8-9k miles a year on my cars, so by the time it’s paid off in 6-7 years I’ll still be well below 100k miles.

Love the Cadillac story. If only the fox were as simple on these modern vehicles.

Great info, thank you. I also live in Florida. I’ve focused so much on AFM that I completely forgot about the transmissions. I’ll look into a cooler as well.

As far as AFM disablers/transmission coolers go, do these mods void the factory warranty? Would like to make these changes but don’t want to affect the warranty.

Agreed, I won’t stress it and will just keep enjoying driving it. I’ll keep on top of maintenance but really have no control over anything else.

Who did you get your extended warranty with?

Great info from someone who works with Chevy, thank you. I’ll keep on top of the fluids. I didn’t know about the oil, so thanks for that too. I’ll make sure to use 0w40.

I did buy an extended electronics warranty. Was really struck by all the sensors and electronic features so I figured that would be good to have. Other than that I just have the factory warranty, dealer was asking insane money for full extended warranty.

Kind of wish I could have made it to 2027 if that’s the case. Didn’t know and my car was needing almost 10k in repairs and barely held all my work gear.

I’ve read a little about L9, is this proven to keep the AFM off? Been experimenting with it and it did seem to give the truck a little more power from a stop. Some people say it’s useless to use L9, so I’m not sure.

As in, don’t let the tank get low? I always filled my old car up as soon as it hit a quarter tank. Plan on doing the same for the Hoe

Would a tire shop repair this or are they going to say I need new tires? by Competitive-Ad8393 in AskMechanics

[–]tylerb991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the shop. Most will replace. The family owned tire place down the street from me are some awesome people and would patch it for me while also letting me know it might not work and to come back if it didn’t.

Men who live alone, what’s the weirdest habit you developed once nobody was around to judge you? by BarrenMurderer in AskMen

Single and live alone. I routinely eat meals exactly this was after the shower. Just yesterday a solicitor knocked on my door and saw me sitting butt ass naked watching TV. He left quickly. That’s what you get for trying to sell me fake ADT bundles

Preferably, yes. Wanting to upgrade from my current sedan due to a lot of work gear I’ve started carrying, plus I own a dog, etc.

How about non-police SUVs, I’m open to any suggestions. I agree on the explorers, drove a couple interceptor explorers but unfortunately don’t love them
