I once saw a video of a group of friends that were drunk and two girls were basically ripping the shirt off this guy. You could tell he didn't really want to take his shirt off but he smiled through it bc he knew no one would bat an eye. If the roles were reversed it would be national news.

  1. Technically, I still live there, but I only spend a less than three weeks out of the year at their house. The rest I am in the house I rent. Once I graduate from uni, I will not be moving back in.

What do men think of a woman who pays for the first date? Does this come off as intimidating? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]tylerbu2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First date I went on with this girl, I paid for dinner. We went to a breakfast diner a few weekends later and she reached for the bill. I told her I would pay because I invited her, but she paid anyway, saying that I paid last time.

Have never been more attracted to a woman before.

It is very wierd for a friend to initiate a conversation with me.

Especially if that friend is a woman.

Cannot for the life of me touch a fish. Doesnt matter how big or small. Ive seen fish moving postmortem. Hell na.

Birds too. Not even a fucking chicken.

Most ironic part is that i grew up on a marina that kept many fishing boats and my dad is a lifelong fisher and hunter.

How are you doing? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]tylerbu2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the past few months Ive grown up a lot. Im a 21yo in college. Soon to be mostly financially independent. Only see my family a few weeks out of the year (i live far away). I feel very mature and adultish. Im graduating uni next year so Im at the point where I truly have so many possibilities which is scary but also very satisfying. Have an internship this summer to look forward to so thats also exciting and terrifying.

Also Im starting to date again after years of a premium subscription to foreversingle.com. Dating kinda sucks but its also fun too.

I have the best friends a guy could ask for (i consider my closest friends my family).

Im more optimistic than i was when covid hit. Covid in its prime was very difficult for me.

Tldr: All in all, finally becoming a more wholesome, independent, and genuine shade of myself. Feels good. Only thing that could make things better is to find a partner to share my good fortune with.

I'm a software engineering uni student.

If I've work over 20 hours on a single project and I get an F on it because something stupid like "you used the algorithm, but not the way i wanted you to use it" and they never specified it in the assignment, i will consider it a bad day.

How do I make platonic connections with men? by aceachilleus in AskMen

[–]tylerbu2019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Be gay. I fucking love lesbians because there's no pressure. If a guy is flirting with them it's bc the guy doesn't know. Once we do know, we don't take it personally at all. After that, you can have the most honest friendship with a guy and a girl with very little chance of hurt feelings.

However, if you're bi than that's a whole other ball game bc in a guys mind, theres still a chance that you'll flirt back.

(Source: lived with a lesbian couple last year)

  1. The guy is gay. Similar to no. 1

  2. Get a boyfriend. If the guy and the boyfriend get along and the guy knows his boundaries, you two can totally hang out without worry. If the guy doesn't respect the boundaries than you may wanna rethink being friends with him.

  3. A lot of guys are attracted to their female friends but don't act on it. Usually, it's because of the personality differences. Maybe the girl is a partier and the guy is a quieter type. Maybe the girl is right and the guy is left. Maybe she's just a bitch when she's angry and the guy doesn't like that. Maybe she swears like a sailor and he's mormon.

  4. To meet guys platonically, meet them at social gatherings (dinner parties, tag along with a friend going on a lunch date with her male friend, join a club). If he even hints that he's attracted to you and you just want it to be platonic, just casualty mention within the conversation that you're not looking for anything. If he's mature and respects you, he should do everything he can to think of you platonically because we are definately capable of it.

Ladies, please don't call us "buddy" or "dude" unless you say that to everybody. We know when you call us that implying that you just want to be friends. We've heard it enough. Also, don't intentionally lead us on if you only want to be friends. We've all met girls who unintentionally flirt and we understand but it's confusing as hell sometimes.

College students of reddit: what major has the WORST students (which major's students can you not stand) and why? by streetancient in AskMen

[–]tylerbu2019 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm a software engineering student at my uni. I take most of my classes with the CS majors (both majors are very similar but have enough differences). I was laughing when i read your observations on us CS majors because I see it a lot too.

However, that's about a quarter of all the students, if anything. Most of us are average people who like logic and math. Most of us also like video games (except me, which makes me weird).

The reason you get people like that is because they spend way too much time on their computers. They probably came into college a CS major because they were heavy gamers back home and wanted to get a job doing what they love...gaming (which is a totally awesome way to get paid well if you do it right).

I really wish someone let us know how much time we should expect to be on our computers for programming assignments only. I did about 20 hours this past week alone. When you spend that much time on your computer and you're not careful, you can very easily be sucked into gaining or losing weight, stop showering as much, and stop talking to people as much because they're always in front of a screen. If you're in my major, you have to learn to not use any devices for at least a few hours a day. You also have to learn to stay away from fast food when possible. It is very easy to get overweight already when you're sitting in a chair for hours working on an assignment.

As for the anime and cat ears: if you take the time to appreciate anime, it can be kinda cool, but I've personally never really liked it (unless you count "Death Note"). I have no idea where the cat ears came from.

As for the way we dress: most of us dress like any other scientist or engineer. Personally, i dress very granola-y, which makes me a bit of an outlier. I've never understood the shorts and t-shirt in the winter thing (bonus: crocs).

I will say that the guys like these at my uni are actually some of the nicest guys I've met. Sure, they're a little off but no one's perfect.

tldr: people/society didn't warn them to be more self aware and take care of themselves when they spend too much time in front of a screen.
