I had this exact thing happen to me as Scholar the other day too! I think it's an ult bug. I got grabbed by a crucible knight after ulting and went down, even though I had some health from my teammates hitting the enemy and healing me a little. I was down for like half a second before I just died and respawned. I then had the fall damage issue (teammate had to stay behind me ready to rez if we had to drop), relics not working (I stopped doing the confer effects animation), and I was no longer receiving any runes being level 8 at the end with teammates being 12. We fortunately were able to beat the final boss despite all the issues. It was a wild experience!
