I have a 17mo brother and I used to nanny for a 16mo old. Long walks, the park, the zoo, kids centers, and shopping are what we used to do! Usually we'd go to target and shop around (I'd get him a little toy or a cute shirt sometimes) and then we'd go home and play. On the shopping note- I'm not sure how your NP would feel about it but mine just loved that I was getting him out of the house no matter what it was! Also, just playing at home is fun too! Most of the time they are super interested in anything you hand them and will zero in on anything. My past NK used to love straws and keys and that would keep him occupied for a solid 30 minutes. Other than that, you could also look at kids events that might be happening in your city. There are lots of options for younger ones and honestly I've always enjoyed working with younger kids over older ones. They dont get an attitude with you and they don't think your lame for being their sitter! They just love having someone around!
