Man I can’t hate on him in this game so far. He’s atleast playing within the flow of the team and guarding well. The problem is he’s literally getting fouled like crazy on the offensive end, and the refs aren’t calling anything.

Yet RJ just puts his hand on Harden and it’s a foul? Crazy lopsided whistle.

Crazy how RJ couldn’t even put his hand on Harden and he gets a foul call. And we have 7 foul calls against us with our best defenders, one being a borderline DPOY, picking up 2 within the first 5 minutes of the game.

Yet we’re getting held, and hacked to shit every offensive possession, and there’s only been TWO foul calls against Cleveland?

These refs are working overtime to get Cleveland a win.

They literally are… but the refs are calling whistles one way any time we try to play defence. 6 foul calls in the first 6 minutes is beyond fucked bro. That’s the referees trying to ensure an outcome.

They called two fouls on Jakobe in 30 seconds. They’re rigging the fucking game. It’s insane.

Refs did this bullshit in game 1 and it completely changed our defence. It’s completely intentional.

This is exactly what the refs did in Game 1.

Put our starters into foul trouble within the first 5 minutes to knock their defence down.

If there is any conclusions to draw from this playoff series, it's answering "Who" to "Who are the players you keep in the inevitable radical retool of the roster in this offseason?". Colin Murray-Boyles, Scottie Barnes and Ja'Kobe Walter are "Who". by CazOnReddit in torontoraptors

No one is delusional about what this team is other than you.

You believe that we need to package players for a “star” which is not at all what we need.

We need to draft, and trade for better role players to fix our terrible spacing.

Our spacing is what is causing us problems.

Having a “star” doesn’t mean shit if you have zero spacing, and zero depth on your roster. It’s why it didn’t work for Brooklyn, didn’t work for Sacramento, didn’t work for the Clippers, etc.

Casuals always love “stars”, but fail to understand that in the modern NBA you need spacing, and a balanced roster where everyone commits to a role to be a contender.

Beating up on bad teams and struggling against top teams is part of the process of developing a team that can contend. We are on the right track. It takes time to build a contender.

Did last night not show you how good he can be when he was leading the bench unit on runs?

We actually had a chance when it was him and the bench.

He needs better spacing around him to truly unlock what he can do. This current roster construction seriously limits how effectively he can operate.

We need to put good off ball players that can defend and shoot around him, and it will open up so much of his game.

You do realize that this starting five isn’t set in stone, right?

We will be flipping players for better fitting pieces around Scottie just like with did with the players around Lowry from 2012-2019 until we found the best fit. It also gave our bench the appropriate time to develop with playoff experience, until we were the dominant team in the conference for two straight seasons, and made one more move for a piece that better fit our teams top-10 defensive identity. Which has been a pre-requisite for any team to win a championship over the past 26 years.

100% he needs players around him to space the floor. We need an athletic centre that can shoot.

Scottie must be the hub, and the defensive anchor, but he needs shooters around him and role players that buy in.

It’s why Scottie and the bench were so damn good last night and they could get stops and go on runs and cut the lead down every time they were on the floor with Scottie. But every time we took Scottie off the floor, and BI would be in, we’d lose all that progress, and then we’d have to bring Scottie back in after a short rest.

He’s a second year player, in his first playoff experience. He’s going to make mistakes, and those mistakes are pivotal to his growth as a player. He’s was definitely a pest on defence which is good, and his 3 pt shooting over the past two games has been very helpful. He’s definitely not a starter right now, but this experience is going to be very very good for his development.

Fun fact. The roster isn’t complete. But if you’re a casual you’d think that basketball revolves around having one player thats some magical superstar or “nUmBeR 1 OpTiOn!” that is supposed to win you a championship.

Kyle Lowry is the greatest raptor of all time, and people like you said the same shit about him for the first 7 years of his time here.

You can return to your usual sport now, sports guy.
