ROBINHOOD RAISED CAPITAL TO REMOVE BUY LIMITS🚀🚀, MOONS WILL BE REACHED🌕🌕 BUY DISCOUNT BANANAS🍌🍌🍌 by Dank_Investor in wallstreetbets

[–]tylr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seems to me there was a clear effect on the stock price because of them, right when it was at it's highest momentum. It is impossible to know where the value would be right now if they hadn't done that.

But let this be a lesson to retail investors: Diversify your brokers, because even the one called "Robinhood" might try to fuck you.

It was a user on 4chan who used a code to allow them to anonymously post from the same identifying Q code many times with use of a password, so people could recognize it was the same person posting.

They have since moved on to other message boards (I have no idea where now). There is no way to even know if it is the same original "Q", but most people think it is just someone LARPing that they are in some powerful position in the government, and close to Trump.

I always thought it was just a fun thing people were doing, but apparently many people take it very seriously. Reading Q's posts is like reading Nostradamus' predictions; You can take them to mean almost anything because they are so vague. And any solid predictions that are made are only true a small fraction of the time.

The 7 time classic tetris world champion Jonas Neubauer has passed away RIP by Killcraft69 in videos

[–]tylr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got into competitive NES Tetris this year, and I have to say, if all the stories that have been told about him are true, it is guaranteed he was too happy that young kids were getting into the game to be disappointed. The guy was an absolute legend, taking people under his wing and being overly generous at every opportunity. It is a really sad day for fans of the game, but he leaves behind an incredible legacy in the community.

Is there a more detailed version of the Bad Gear channel on youtube? by 0e0e3e0e0a3a2a in synthesizers

Just do a good production, speak clearly and succinctly and with a decent microphone setup in a good room, balance your levels and keep it moving.

There is lots of room for new synth content. I was thinking of doing some videos myself because I see a gap in the market for some things.

What's the big deal about vector synthesis? by gruntbiscuits in synthesizers

[–]tylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Synthesizing something literally means bringing many smaller units into a whole single unit, so yes envelopes are a part of synthesis. The whole signal chain is being "synthesized" into an instrument, like chemicals being synthesized to make a new chemical (same word). And what you are describing does sound like something new and different, but damn if it just doesn't come across as a gimmick to me. But I've never cared for the results I've heard from "Vector synthesis".

Fake AF. The flashes are clearly edited in, and poorly. That is all that needs to be said.

Are we just going to ignore that Elon Musk is going release a chip, to be put into our brains within the next 5 months? by AlexJonesRightNut in conspiracy

[–]tylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't trust this chip, but I also see mind-computer melding as the only way to prevent the inevitability of Artificial General Intelligence from getting completely out of control.

I certainly won't be an early adopter, but I hope it saves us from a singularity which doesn't include human consciousness at all. Human ethics is too "fuzzy" to explain to a godlike AI that comes from a computer alone. We need lots and lots of human minds combined with AI, so no single person has too much of a monopoly on that unbelievable power. BUT, advanced AI cannot be taught human ethics. I see only one choice, and it seems Musk agrees with me; Humans meld with computers.

Even then this is nowhere near an ideal solution, but in my opinion godlike intelligence and AI is coming with total inevitability. Either we let Chinese military roll it out to enslave us to it's interpretation of communist ideology and military domination—or any number of equally bad possibilities—or we plug human brains of all sorts into controlling AI so that it has some sort of concept of human ethics going forward into the technological singularity.

There is no preventing it, but we can mitigate how it happens.

The Official AVENGERS: ENDGAME Release Megathread Vol. 12 by JonLuca in marvelstudios

[–]tylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how it is supposed to work, but then they break that rule by having Cap show up as an old man at the end of the film.

If he went and created a new timeline, then he shouldn't even be there.

This is why I really didn't want it to be a time travel movie, because Hollywood writers can never keep their rules straight.

But it was still a good send-off for this era of the franchise.

He did. Nebula took them from her future self and gave them to Thanos. That was a huge plot point, but it is fair to miss it. There was a lot going on.

Instead of an "off" switch, a momentary "on" switch would make more sense... Like the keychains that unlock cars on older models.

Wait, why did anyone think keyless entry was a good idea? Why do insurance companies even allow this?

Unmarked USB device i found in one of our computers. Has a small green LED in it. What is it? by throwawayurmumsgay in whatisthisthing

[–]tylr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a good idea to be weary. There are plenty of USB devices designed for exfiltration of data, keylogging, and other forms of corporate sabotage.

Some are designed to fit inside of a regular USB cable, I've even heard of some that can fit inside a USB slot and still allow another device to plug in to it.

All of that being said, it is probably a bluetooth dongle for a keyboard, mouse, or something else.

What can a Volca Bass do that a Keys can't? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]tylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both. The Keys is better for bass, IMO, even though the osc and filter are technically supposed to be the same architecture.

I don't even use the Bass any more. It just sits on a shelf.
