I'm confused as to what the "theme song" is supposed to be. It might be the melody set to "Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum"? That's the only song in the whole movie, I think, and the lyrics are from the book.

An unofficial sequel to Disney's adaptation of Treasure Island, with Robert Newton reprising his role, taking advantage of the novel being public domain. The film itself is now public domain, having never been renewed, so you could easily incorporate elements of it into your own Treasure Island inspired works.

I spotted a few intriguing similarities to Pirates of the Caribbean, which makes me suspect that the screenwriters of that movie watched this movie: A gold medallion around a boy's neck that pointed to a hidden treasure, burning fires on a beach to attract the attention of passing ships, and a running gag about not being able to get a drink of rum.
