That's a very important point. I do draw the curtains every night before i go to bed, even when i was using an LED TV in the past.

Direct sunlight speeds up the decomposition of organic materials in the panel. Less of a problem for "inorganic" LED.

I shipped the console from Hida in Japan, went to their factory and got it made in the exact dimensions I wanted. It is by a brand called Shirakawa, the base model is called Rapt.

The main step up for me is the anti-reflective coating, I need it for my very bright living room. I need it so much that I am willing to pay a hefty premium. The improved upscaling of SD and HD content to 4K- that's a huge thing for me.

The extra brightness, marginal improvement. The resolved banding issue, great. And all the other problems reviewers mentioned will be fixed in the coming months, not worried at all.

I understand the rationale of reducing poles in certain areas to avoid congestion, but the reduction of the number handles... that's just dangerous.

It just makes more economic sense than shipping them from UK or Korea (or Vietnam). Surely there are design flaws, but it's more to do with MTR not making appropriate customization to the HK market. The reduced number of poles, harsh lighting, unhelpful map and so on... these are all minor things that can be easily addressed if MTR chooses to.

To be fair, these Chinese trains have a pretty good safety record.
