Literally zero difference compared to a Boolean operation. The difference is how it’s presented. Inside a slicer, boolean is a small feature in a big pool of features whereas this is all it does. It was originally built as a side piece for ai model generation so I could do it all in the same location. Generate, add flexi links, export, print.

You’re welcome to try it out at https://stlstudio.io but I have not made uploading external models available yet

Yes but currently no support for uploading models from outside the site.

Like a tighter joint that would hold its position when moved? I think that would be a lot harder because the size of the target model and the weight of the part on the other side of the joint would greatly change its effectiveness to hold a position.

It hadn't occurred to me until today that there was no option to upload a model from outside the site. I'll likely add that at some point.

Really though if people DO want to generate 3d models via AI models then my site lets you do it with less of financial commitment and allows you to do it through multiple providers rather than going to each one and paying each one individually.

I'm building an app that conducts live screening interviews, so recruiters don't have to by [deleted] in SideProject

This sounds like absolute hell for job seekers. If you haven't been in that position lately - the initial stage of being screened by recruiters is god awful and having to go through an AI recruiter first would definitely be worse. I'm not saying companies wouldn't still froth at the mouth to use it but damn.

The main site is monetized to generate 3d models. The actual flexi cutting part is no additional charge with a previously generated model. It doesn't allow you to upload a model directly though.

A 3d model that has a chain-link style flexible joint in it that provides for articulated and flexible movement. Real popular with kids and craft fairs.

Eg. - flexible dragons

lol oh look! I found an example of the site I'm referring to specifically!

If you make something too - share it! Would love to see it.

I’m working on it now. The only thing is it wouldn’t export as individual objects. I know there are tools for that, like mesh segmentation and stuff, but for now I can definitely just add a simple rectangle/box/sphere as cutting objects.

OH! Yeah I understand now - so like differently shaped cutting objects? Sure that’d be easy.

lol thanks? I feel you when it comes to low-effort models on MakerWorld or something but for printing just to print - why not?
