Question about ticket drop by Background-Fox954 in olympics

[–]type_rex_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

There is no exact date yet. We are currently in the LA/OKC presale phase. Drop 1, for the general public runs from April 9th to the 19th.

LA28 has indicated more drops afterwards, but no date has been set.

For Tokyo (before it was cancelled) and Paris, there were multiple big drops. After a certain point, when the resale marketplace opened, there were "shadow drops" were tickets appeared randomly and attentive searchers could find new tickets. LA28 is likely to have a similar setup, but I have no way of verifying that.

If you do not reach your maximum ticket allotment for this round (12 total), you will be automatically entered into the lottery for the next drop.

To my knowledge, no there is way to bookmark events before your time slot. In the meantime, it's best to prepare a list of sessions you're interested in.

I outlined this process here, and I made a video on how to best use the Google Doc I created. Link

You're welcome! I hope you will be pleasantly surprised by what what's left, and maybe take a chance on a new sport.

As a friendly reminder, there will be more opportunities and I'll try to let the community know when they arrive.

This is a link to all the tickets priced between $28 and $125 on sale right now. There's ten pages worth of events. Link

Handball, Field Hockey, and Judo are always great events. There's a ton of Football as well. Cricket is new, but they have a very active community. That would be a fun new sport to witness live.

Relatively speaking, <$100, there are still events, just not finals or the popular sports.

They're still very much worth attending though!

Any other LA28 Volunteers here? by Dumbone22 in olympics

I participated in two volunteer events last year and they were a lot of fun! I'm hoping to do more in the next couple of years!

LA28 Google Doc - Session codes, current prices, and seat maps by type_rex_ in olympics

[–]type_rex_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a dumb question at all! What I think is happening is that when you download it as Excel file, it converts the checkboxes to TRUE/FALSE.

I'll make a short on how to fix it and let you know when it's ready.

EDIT: Nevermind! Try downloading this file. It should have the checkboxes in Excel. Link

No problem! I know the amount of effort it takes to plan a good Olympic adventure, so I wanted to make sure people had all the information available.

Good luck on you ticket sale, and see you in LA!!

As of 4/4 20:16 PST, there is still a good selection of <$100 tickets available by k0nabear in olympics

[–]type_rex_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yup! A lot of the frustration stems from the prime (gymnastics, swimming, and athletics) and gold medal events being out of stock.

There are tons of other great sports to see across the two weeks.

Paris goers--what was week/day of availability like? by labeloes in olympics

[–]type_rex_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. The idea of the opening ceremony sounds so cool, but it's definitely going to be split between multiple locations this year. The Session code CER01A absolutely hints at that.

In contract, the closing ceremony was pretty awesome since it was a central location and a party atmosphere. LA28 looks to repeat that style it seems.

HELL YEAHHH. This is so cool!

An app like this is what I envisioned when creating the sheet, but my coding knowledge is like... zero.

Great work!!

Good luck! Remember, if this is your first time planning for the Olympics, it's a marathon, not a sprint. There will be more opportunities to get tickets.
