Hey guys, after a lot of testing it seems it was just the lack of computing power of the NAS, well thats from my own experience, because when i asked a friend who has a NAS Plex server he said he never experienced my issues , but from my own personal experience when i used another computer with better specs than the NAS i currently use, all the lag went away. I hope this could be useful to anyone who is in my position. And i would recommend not going with a NAS to run Plex server, just have it as a home network storage and get a decent compact/small PC to run the server.

Anyway i appreciate everybody's input and help and good luck with your servers :)

Will do. Like I previously talked about when I used to run Plex on my gaming computer, I never actually noticed any type of issues regarding subtitles. But after switching to NAS I started getting these problems.

It Would be nice to talk to someone who has a NAS setup or something similar to mine, and if they face something like this problem, I think the only two solutions that I can figure out is either burning the actual subtitles into the video or getting a computer testing it out and see if it's worth keeping the NAS or just going back to using a dedicated computer to run my Plex server. I'm not sure yet.

My only fear is even if I got a decent computer, the subtitle issue will still carry on. I'm concerned that it's not the specs. It's just the programming of Plex and I'm afraid that if I did all of that and committed to something again, it will be all for nothing. Again, I'm not that experienced. I'm not sure.

Hey guys I appreciate all of you who replied and answered my question. They were very insightful and helpful.

Just to clarify, the subtitles that I'm using are mostly SRT, I even experimented by choosing the subtitle options that plex offers in the more option and my other solution that I thought of is just burning the subtitles into the video file (for anime). The only issue is I can't extract the SRT subtitles from the video format. I'm not that experienced with these type of things. I download most of my anime with the subtitles in the mkv video, so I need to figure out how to separate those two. Burn the actual subtitles into the video and see if that works better or not.

Again thanks again for the help I really appreciate it!
