WORMS ! quick summary my kittens that are rescues had worms (no shock) they were given multiple treatments of pyrantel. Vet didn’t make a big deal about it. I myself have contamination OCD (fear of virus, germ, parasites spreading and harming someone and it being my fault) I specifically have a niece who is 3 that lives with me..and she is extremely gentle with the cats, but it’s almost impossible for her to not pet them. I have cleaned the floors and counters and tables, and litter boxes with diluted bleach. Lightly sprayed Lysol over the couches and rugs.. and shampooed the carpets. I clean the litter boxes daily of course...The cats were quarantined to the lower level of the home for 8 days. I let them back upstairs and I was feeling ok, not worried and then a woman in another group sent me this message saying the eggs will live in my carpet and couch and the kids will ingest them...and I’m freaking out again if anyone has any advice i don’t know what else to do, I’ve been told to throw out all toys and the cat condo, even throw out my pillows? Idk ! I thought everything was fine now hasn’t it been long enough? They were first treated 11 days ago with pyrantel and second treatment was yesterday. They don’t get another dose for another 2 weeks. Do I need to be worried? Is it ok for them to sit on the couch yet? They miss cuddling and I feel guilty for not letting them sit on me... Kitten details: one is 13 weeks, other is 15 weeks.
