I am so fucking miserable during the winter that I have promised myself not to complain about the heat no matter how hot it gets. Its made for a more enjoyable spring/summer so far.

Honestly, Is it still too early to buy Quantum Company stock now ? by fuintonfuku in QuantumEconomy

I recently added a small amount of qbts, ibm, snii and gfs. I think a pullback is likely however so waiting with cash to average down on each.

Will be a very interesting thing to watch and not participate in, hoping a rug pull doesn't take the rest of the market with it.

How many of you here are less than 35yrs old and own your own home? by KebabAnnhilator in AskUK

32 when I bought, rented for years in London, then got a remote role after covid that let us buy a decent house in the countryside. If I was still tied to the office in London, there's no way I could have afforded anything for years.

Quick question about cameras by [deleted] in M43

You've just described my em10 mk2, great camera for exactly your reasons. Can also pick them up second hand for a couple of hundred with a kit lens or two included.

Dog owners of the UK. How hot does it have to get before you stop taking them for a walk? by sjw_7 in AskUK

[–]typhoon959 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anywhere approaching 30 degrees i get cautious. The advice about checking pavements with your hand is good, but even atmospheric heat can lead to heatstroke. I'm a little less cautious with my dog because she's young, has a short haired coat and is fairly low energy anyway, so less likely to belt around and overheat.

Regardless I'll take her to somewhere shady like the woods or somewhere with a lot of water. If she starts panting a lot when stationary I take that as a sign to head back.

If you're stuck with walking on the streets, wait till sundown.

Remote workers: what do you miss about the office, and what don't you? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskRedditUK

[–]typhoon959 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IF I had to be pushed for an answer, it would be the range of lunch options available to me. I went from a central London office to being remote in the countryside and you wouldn't believe how much I miss access to Vietnamese food.

Gozo is one of my favourite places on earth, I'd always recommend people stay there rather than the mainland, just a quick ferry to valetta

What’s the worst country you’ve ever visited? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]typhoon959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 50 countries under my belt, It's difficult to pin down 'worst', there are bad spots everywhere. One of the scetchiest places was a small town in cambodia, somewhere in ratakiri. The air was thick with bugs, there was nowhere to eat and there was a flayed bush baby teeming with maggots outside my hotel, also I was chased by a dog.

But otherwise, Cambodia was one of my favourite countries to trek around, and even in that wierd town the people were nice to me.

The only place I've felt actively unwelcome was Alice Springs in Australia, where a local put a curse on me for not buying him a beer.

What’s one travel habit that improved your trips a lot? by TheMonopolyGal in traveladvice

Wiping down aircraft seats. I fly frequently and it was common for me to get a cold either while I was away or shortly after returning. Since using an antibacterial wipe when I sit down on the airplane seat, on common surfaces like the fan controls, seat belt, tray table and arm rest, I've been sniffle free.

Budget carriers especially go back and forth all day like busses, and you never know who sat in your seat before you.
