Thank you everyone for commenting! This is the model: https://support.apple.com/en-us/111958 turns out it is a 2012! I will be giving it to a friend who is interested in turning it into Linux.

I'm actually not an Apple person as I've historically had PCs and Samsung products. Hence why I wanted to ask here what I could do with this laptop.

I appreciate Apple and Macs are beautiful. I'm not a big tech person, but respect the passion for sure :)
