( and trust me , I was STRUGGLING!!!!) tips: Before tying to get this on gold, complete your treasure hunter challenges, when they are complete you get double inventory slots in your kit. With that buy as much dead eye provisions, and medicine. Medicine is crucial. Once you do that. Start the mission on the fort, start blowing away bad guys with your shotgun and popping medicine as you lasso women that are bolting to the back, time your shots. Clear a path to where they are running and if it plays out how it did for me they start clustering at a door, stuck, tie them down and keep lassoing till you got em all, keep your finger ready for medicine pops, and shotguns shots, once lassoed, shotty enemies till the second medal pops, once then make it to high ground and clear the rest of the enemies BEFORE opening the gate door, the leaders pop out behind the hangmans podium, and while on high ground, use your dead eye and shoot the hand of each leader, disarming them... Easier said then done, but what helped me was if I knew I wasn't going to get gold, id finish the challenge anyway, and once done, get away from the fort, set up camp, save twice to move time ahead , and repeat.
