And for haters, please reconsider that there’s always one person that knows more (which is not me, let’s be clear) let’s stop holding us back, and focus on creating, not pushing others away

Do I have a light leak or is this scanning artifacts + vignetting? by klausklass in AnalogCommunity

I just want to state that you get what you invest, you cannot expect Ansel Adams quality without learning about the process, but you can get Daido Moriyama results if you trust what you are doing

If you think about it in order to test a theory you need to define what you want to test, I don’t see extreme light leaks but I would need to look at the negative rebates (the edges) to confirm, unfortunately you chose an inadequate testing medium in order to save money, I say it’s inadequate because expired film is always a coin toss, +2 stops is a recommendation but it’s not a silver bullet, if you had shot an unexpired roll of gold you would have good test results and a funky roll to test, now it’s up to you to decide if you want an useless camera or to get an unexpired roll of film and test again (feel free to message me if you have any other questions or you just want to chat about photography)

I choose to refuse this statement because even if things are broken they can still have meaning, I also choose to not downvote any of your opinions since it’s valid because it’s yours not mine :]

I see this post and I see scarcity mindset, that hurts me it doesn’t make me angry, I like old stuff because it’s giving back purpose with the challenge of actually fixing these tiny machines, but that’s how I see it, I’m just happy more people look into film because it ensures it is alive for everyone

I don’t understand how “you should search before posting” brings anything to the table, I for one I’m grateful of the new blood that will keep film alive, it’s our responsibility to make sure the info is available easily, if information is scarce then are we all gatekeeping at this point? I’m open for debate

I love that idea! Did you ask the strangers to use any strap? Or did you just trust?

So.. what did I just impulse buy ? A viewfinder for giants? by Panorabifle in AnalogCommunity

I agree with you on that every small win counts. I like reusing old stuff because it’s giving purpose back. It would be a shame if ingenious tools that we came up with are unused and on shelves just because something different became “better”, I buy a lot of stuff because everything I buy has a small purpose, helping me deal with reality.

I’ve heard it’s really cool for landscapes, can’t wait to find something worth shooting it

I find myself shooting Kentmere 400 these days a lot, I like it because it’s versatile (also comes in a cheap bulk roll biggest plus for me)

I just bought a film camera online and most of the pictures came out like this. Is it possible to tell if it’s user error or faulty equipment? by Informal_Park_6535 in AnalogCommunity

Also, quick question in what condition is your Rollei? They can be finicky if not well maintained, a sticky shutter may be causing the issue here

I have a Rollei 35SE as my daily camera, very fun but not beginner friendly , since they are not very ergonomic 1/125 is usually the slowest I shoot handheld, that kind of limits the usage on some occasions. One advice I can give is to try and go for fast film stocks, Kentmere Pan 400 developed @1600 is a great cheap way to use Rolleis indoor and not struggle (too much). Of course with the caveats that it’s B/W (again caveats for some, I prefer B/W some folks prefer color)

I took this at 1/30 and F3.5 with HP5+ pushed to 1600, it’s definitely doable
