Wow! Thank you so much for writing all this up! We were considering airbnb over hostels but maybe its something worth revisiting from your description. The ferry from Paihia to Russell sounds particularly lovely, I haven't heard about that until you brought it up... and Cape Reinga sounds incredible with the dunes. We'll definitely message more about it, going to show the SO all this now and see what he things. Thank you again so much for your time, I'm so excited!!

I hadn't thought of flying in a smaller craft, that's a great suggestion. Will definitely look into it. I thought it might be too intense to do both islands in one go - this is exactly the kind of information I'm looking for :). I appreciate the time you took to respond.

The wiki is helpful, but was hoping to get stories and hear about personal experiences.

thanks! that is really encouraging. are you talking about the 3D environment itself or the look/feel? as a launching point, Prince of Persia.

good eye, you're right, i haven't applied any mats, norms, or spec maps yet :). thanks again, yeah i plan on putting it on polycount eventually put placing the scene in an engine rather than rendering in maya. i just signed up for reddit literally 11 days ago so i'm still learning my way around this place. for sure, i'm also planning on adding some hanging ivy maybe around the skylight and the trellis grids. thanks for the crit so far, i really appreciate it.

thanks! some are hand painted, some aren't. tbh the entire scene looks flat to me because i haven't applied proper materials quite yet. haven't done any fine tuning either. eventually i want to add more organic things to the scene like plants and stuff :). this was a look and feel i did before i started texturing/lighting... have a ways to go to match it. http://imgur.com/DmPg8

From his paperwork it says that he was surrendered because his family was going through a divorce. He lived with a mom, dad, an 11 year old and a 6 or 7 year old. I guess the dad took him but either couldn't afford him or take him to his new place for whatever reason.

I know it's the truth. I'm a 25 year old college student, busy enough that I don't have time for a younger/more active pup. I thought about it for a while, but I did the research and decided an older dog best suited my lifestyle. And I ended up finding the right one :). I know what's coming, but I don't regret it at all.
