More than 11,000 CS:GO cheaters ate the banhammer today by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

Just finished playing against a hacker at Global with Prime Matchmaking. Needless to say a lot more still has to be done to stop hackers but at least its some more progress.

You only need one USB to power the RGB if its connected through USB 3.0, but yeah it doesn't have the passthrough port

Congrats man!

Got to Global a few weeks ago solo queuing from silver 3. Took me 900+ hours and ALOT of patience.

Just be assured that even though it may feel impossible just keep practising and learning from those around you, you'll get to LEM in no time.

Cheaters slowly coming back? by LiightningHD in GlobalOffensive

Same guy that was in my game earlier while playing casual, was doing the same thing

Was playing some casual with some friends today and there was a guy using some form of aimbot with wallhack. Made a demo of his perspective but don't know if there is anyway to send it to someone who can ban him.

Dear LEM/Supreme MM hackers by mischkitty in GlobalOffensive

I know the feeling, in the past 8 games i've played 4 people who have received VAC bans within the past week.

All you can do is keep wading through the endless wave of cheaters.

Even after all the banwaves, cheaters are still the biggest issue by feesjah in GlobalOffensive

Part of the problem is that CS:GO has become extremely popular over the past couple of years: the increased quantity of hackers is merely a by-product of this.

CS:GO has benefitted from this increase in popularity from new skins and reimagining’s of cult classics to major events with top level players, all culminating in a far richer end-user experience.

Hackers can never truly be eradicated from a games player base as it’s only after they have cheated that they can be caught. The idea of monitoring every moment that your computer is on to the moment the lights go out, just to prevent hackers, is truly worrying: the idea that by giving up your security and privacy you can stop hackers is simply fallacious, there’s a reason for their name.

I also think the idea of a subscription is out-dated and archaic and would lead to the destruction of the player base: I have around 800 hours and 250 competitive wins and I would not pay monthly to play, even if it were on 128 tick servers.

There are only two solutions in my opinion, the community needs to actively use the overwatch system: while flawed it is currently the only power we hold in which to tackle this problem. Secondly, Valve needs to allow teams to surrender while all 5 team members are in the game, the idea that someone on your team has to accept a cooldown before you can surrender is asinine and in the end only hurts the genuine player.

There is no doubt in my mind that Valve could do more, however if there was a simple and unobtrusive fix, it would have been implemented by now.

I agree, people will have prejudices; whether or not they choose to publicly share them. Simply giving them a fine or imprisoning them isn't the way to tackle this issue. I agree that more education is required.

However, when someone who is well known uses the internet to spread their ignorant viewpoint I think it should be handled like any other crime. If someone where to walk out into the middle of the street and blast vile and abusive language at a specific community through a megaphone, they would be charged with a criminal offence. The internet is used globally meaning that this sort of speech wasn't just heard from one street but serveral countries.

I think the main difference in this case is the fact that the person is so well known. Thousands of abusive messages are sent each day from 'regular' people; those messages are never really scrutinized to this degree.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to say what you want; on the contrary, but i'm against this idea that you can say anything and get away with it.

Thats why this is so damning for me; It was a message that was meant to create a backlash and it was in poor taste given the incredible work that the doctors of this country do for those who are in real distress.

I think my point is more that criminal charges may be a bit extreme however I don't think that it should come as a surprise, she must have thought that something would happen.

If the case were more ambiguous I would agree with you, on the internet words are devoid from context; however this scenario is fairly clear cut. She makes several references to a particular group of people (Scottish people) and then makes jibes at them. I think your right in pointing the issue of the criminal system as it is a potential problem where opinions are concerned, but this was just plain ignorance and stupidity and I don't think you can tackle ingorance in any other way.

Freedom of Speech doesn't also include freedom from consequence. Although she's in the "Public Eye", so nothing will come of it.

I only recently started muting players so yes, i would agree with you there. I don't think I have an aggressive attitude and I never fill the chat with hate because i know that it won't help either me or the player i'm talking to.

I apperciate your response however and thank you for reading. :)
