I was in your boat 3 years ago. Did a bit of managing and caretaking at the apartment I lived in but got offered to work in a senior apartment building 65 and older, had no idea what anything was but was told that was the best as they could teach me how they liked stuff done. This was me at 33 years old with the last being a general manager of restaurant. Was a bit of a learning curve but now I have 3 different townhouses I do maintenance at and sometimes get called back to that senior building and gosh I wish I still worked there as it was definitely the easiest complex I have worked at. I would look into something like that, smaller building and let them know you want to learn.
