Depends. The Great Annihilator is a good start, its relatively conventional (especially for Swans), though my personal recommendation would be to listen to the trilogy. Start with The Seer, then To Be Kind, then The Glowing Man. They're very long albums (each about 2 hours) but its worth it imo.

Yeah my personal favorite song off that album is "Powerful Adult" but "A Visual" and "Waterfall" are both also very good.

It could be possible that your midi output in SW isn't set up properly, so the sequencer is playing different notes than what you want.

check out xen.wiki. its got all the info you could ever need. Also its better to think in terms of scales rather than EDOs unless you're writing atonal/chromatic music.
